yet to receive orders on de-sealing of borders

After the of in its guidelines stated that there should be no restrictions on inter-state of and , (City) Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dheeraj Chahal said they were yet to receive orders from the state government for de-sealing of district borders with Chandigarh. At present, there is no restriction on into Panchkula from areas, including the Housing Board.

“We just inquire those who try to enter into Panchkula during hours. During the day, there is free movement of people,” said a Constable who has been deployed at one of the district borders. “There is no official order and no restriction on movement of people. Nakas will remain in place for ,” said another senior official.

In orders by the Panchkula administration, restrictions containment of 21, sector 19, sector 10 and sector 12 Panchkula were relaxed as no cases have been reported from the respective sectors in the past 28 days.

These sectors had reported one -19 case each. Houses in Sectors 21, 19 and 10, from where positive cases were reported, have been labeled as ‘containment zone’ by the administration and officials said, the residents will remain in quarantine.

Those dealing in items to open on all days

Revising its previous orders, the of all , including those located in , on all expect from 9 am to 6 pm.

Earlier, all non-essential shops were allowed to operate three times a week. According to the fresh order issued by the District Magistrate, all essential shops are allowed to remain open on all days from 7 am to 6.30 pm. All standalone shops and internal sector markets in Panchkula will have to follow social distancing norms and other precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Milk booths have been advised to carry out their business from a distance.

Rules for Rehri markets

The administration announced separate rules for congested rehri markets in Sector 7, 9, 11 and 17, , , , , , , , and . facing eastern and northern sides in these areas will remain open between 9 am and 6 pm on , Friday and Sunday, whereas shops facing western and southern sides will function on , and between 9 am and 6 pm.

Similarly, there are separate rules for shops located in areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation in and towns.

Barber shops to remain shut

Though shops, and will be operational only for delivery services, barber shops, salons and spas will remain completely shut.
