This is 2003 and still many don’t look at candle business as a serious one.. and way back in 1996, when startups were not a big thing and scented candles were not part of even the so called elite households she had the courage to get into candle making. Of coarse, it all begin as a hobby and love for these beautiful waxed art pieces. Dimple Kapadia, used to buy candles every time she travelled abroad to never lit Them. Cause she couldn’t find good ones in the Indian market. So one day in 1996, she picked a book on candle making and decided to learn the art a small course with famous London-based candle maker David Constable boosted her confidence and she set on her journey that has nurtured today into an well-established brand name the Faraway Tree. A candle and fragrance house founded by Dimple Kapadia along with daughters Twinkle and Rinke in 1998 has been doing business profitably. Not only this it is because of candle business experience Twinkle Khanna ventured into her home décor and interior designing business.

If Dimple Kapadia can do it in 1998, so can each one of you just look for a gap just the way she did and embark on your entrepreneurial journey….

Married at the age of 22 like most of the Indian girls, and later birth of a special child with special needs she put maternal duties ahead of everything else. Meet our today’s courageous entrepreneur Harini Sivakumar, the founder of the skincare brand Earth Rhythm. This venture was nowhere planned, it was all about her passion and not giving up. She had never dreamed of becoming a business worth 200 crores. She started her journey basically looking for a skincare product her son could use. She shared the products with friends and family who always kept coming back for more. Registered as an MSME in 2017 as Soapworks India and later rebranded as Earth Rythm in 2018. She had her share of hurdles and struggles but her vision to provide skincare with integrity helped her achieve milestones towards success. Harini's journey took an exciting turn when Earth Rhythm received funding in 2021 and attracted the attention of Nykaa, which acquired an 18.51% stake in the brand in 2022.

Harini Sivakumar's Earth Rhythm achieved success by offering a unique value proposition, emphasizing product quality and efficacy, leveraging social media marketing, committing to sustainability, prioritizing inclusivity and social responsibility, and establishing strategic partnerships. These factors, combined with Harini's passion and personal story, propelled Earth Rhythm to become a successful skincare brand.

If Harini can do it, so can each one of you just look for a gap just the way she did and embark on your entrepreneurial journey….

Coca Cola and Pepsi caught fancy of Indian people post liberalisation. Our local Indian drinks such as shikanjvi or nimboo paani that are healthier version took a back seat. And it never occurred to anyone that these are our favourite thirst quenchers and can be successfully branded and marketed. but this has been changed by young entrepreneurs with the help of drink created in his own kitchen with Indian spices and lemon. And thus Lahori was born as a brand owned by Archian foods, a startup founded by these three friends in 2017 at Mohali, with their own money. They have been reinvesting profits back into business establishing state of art manufacturing unit to increasing distribution. And are further scaling up with recent external funding by Verlinvest.

Its all about keeping having a belief in yourself and taking the plunge towards entrepreneurial journey. If these three friends can do it so can you.. Be Vocal Support local…

According to Falguni Nayar entrepreneurship is an adventure that needs courage. And this definitely she displayed when she took the call to launch Nykaa, an Indian cosmetic ecommerce, after being a successful investment banker for 20 years at the age of 50 and that too with her own savings. And a decade later she became India’s richest self-made woman billionaire. Falguni at the age of 49 felt that age and experience are not liabilities so why should they play deterrent in her choice. As she embarked on her journey she faced start-up challenges just like us .. frequent crashing of her website, chief technology officers quitting , network crashing the minute they would hit 100 orders. And in the beginning just like many of us she was packing boxes in the warehouse to make sure orders went through smoothly. And for the first five years she was constantly under threat from the giant competitor AMAZON but her focus ON HAPPY CUSTOMERS led her to SUCCESS...
We r proud of you Falguni Nayar for being such an inspiration to us all.

Kaushal Singh is an inspiring young entrepreneur who is transforming the jaggery industry in Punjab. He started his business with the goal of providing consumers with a healthier alternative to adulterated food. With the help of his partner, Navnoor Kaur, he has successfully transformed jaggery from a "sad packaged good" into a trendy item that is catching the attention of customers.

Kaushal's story is a testament to the power of innovation and perseverance. He is a role model for other young people who are looking to start their own businesses. He is also an example of how traditional products can be modernized and made more appealing to consumers.

We believe that if we have more youngsters like Kaushal, we will be able to bring back Punjab's lost glory and revival of our farming world. He is a shining example of how young people can make a difference in the world.

Here are some of the key takeaways from Kaushal's story:

It is possible to transform traditional products into modern and trendy ones.

Innovation and perseverance are essential for success in business.

Packaging and branding are important for establishing your business.

It is important to be committed to quality and sustainability.

Young people can make a difference in the world.

We hope that Kaushal's story will inspire others to follow in his footsteps and start their own businesses. He is a true inspiration, and we are confident that he will continue to achieve great things in the future.

Rishu Gandhi always wanted to venture on her own. That is probably why she was able to look further into her friends complain about chemicals present in wet wipes. Rishu decided to do a small research to explore the baby products market . She came across a gap for reliable organic products in the market for infants and kids. She quit job at Infosys to begin her entrepreneurial journey to launch an Eco friendly and organic brand. In 2016, Rishu launched wet wipes under the brand name Mother Sparsh with her own investment in Mohali, Punjab. Post covid everyone talks about organic and sustainability but she came up with one of India’s first eco-friendly, 98 percent water-based wipes that are biodegradable. The manufacturing was taken care by a third party manufacturing unit at Ludhiana and raw material for wet wipes was sourced from Gujarat. The zero-polyester wipes claimed to offer the purest and most gentle care to babies.

But her first step stepping the entrepreneur world was halted, as our small local brand was competing head on with major brands like Himalaya, Johnson & Johnson, Chicco, and others already dominating the market. She was able to survive by adopting a little different marketing strategy. She let people try her products for free. This helped her to make place in the consumer’s mind as she had a product none had. Sparsh has not only survived in the competitive market but also in the FY 22 her brand’s turnover was Rs 33. 53 crore. And MNC’s such as ITC have invested in this D2C brand. And their growth is going steady having added more then 100 products to their portfolio.

We are proud of Rishu Gandhi and Co founder Himanshu Gandhi the couple for sharing a common vision - of creating something valuable and unique for the society and working towards it.

Don’t be mistaken by the simplicity and the shy demure of the young boy on our post. He happens to be the winner of the grand finale of ‘Future Tycoons’ — an initiative of the Patiala District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises under the aegis of Deputy commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, ADC Gautam Jain, self-help groups and local business persons. It was held at the Thapar Institute of Engineering last year in July. Patiala got really lucky to get India’s first-ever entrepreneurship search and mentoring platform for the students, youth, self-help group, women, differently abled persons, small and big businessmen or the general public.
and yes, you guessed it right, this simpleton Kartik Pal, who had invented a machine that converts cow dung into wood, won the title of “Future Tycoons” in open category wears many hats of engineer, researcher, director, strategist, innovator, waste manager and many more. Through his creativity and ingenuity, he is helping to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time - environmental sustainability.

And we will not forget to mention that he is a great son of Punjab who decided to stay back in his own country, own state and work on his dad’s business rather than looking for an easier life abroad. We SUPPORT YOU KARTIK..
