TIPS for concentrating in the classroom:

Sit COMFORTABLY but not too relaxed.

If you can't get started, simply complete a very SMALL task within five minutes. This will help you get going properly.

Once you are into the task and understand what is involved, you can try setting a DEADLINE for completion of a section or the whole lot: this will help you concentrate.

Be clear about exactly what you have to DO. Ask the teacher if necessary.

Be aware of the possible DISTRACTIONS and how to AVOID them.

Some strategies to use with special students include

When you sense and avoid too much movement and convey non-aggressive intentions in your body language – avoid waving arms as this can exacerbate confrontation.
Use pauses between responses. No matter what using a form of tactical pausing can reduce the chances of confrontation and also shows respect as this demonstrates that you are reflecting on what they are saying.
It is very important to remember that silence can be very effective.
Another way is to show genuine concern and help the pupil to take control of the situation.
Don’t be afraid to avoid an upward spiral of confrontational behaviour. Do not try to mirror their mood. One way for example, if they shout avoid the temptation to shout louder. It is a good idea to match the mood level while showing some heightened response.
It is important to know that positioning is key – standing at right angles to the pupil or alongside them may be less threatening. Avoid squaring up. I want to stress here that an angry pupil has a large personal space bubble around them. You will find that normally the space bubble or zone of comfort is about 50cm around us. I would say that standing inside that zone or too close with an angry pupil can exacerbate the situation. However, standing too far away and by appearing to retreat by moving away from the pupil might be seen as a sign of weakness.Needless to say that by standing in this position, you avoid excessive eye contact as that is often threatening.
My only request is that do not get pulled into a power struggle – keep responses low key and do not allow the situation to escalate.
It is a good idea to always model the behaviour you expect to see.

Teaching students who are aggressive.

What is the physical aspects of child’s behavior

This child will often antagonize others and is drawn to physical fighting or verbal arguments. She might be the "class bully" and have a few real friends. He chooses to solve problems by winning fights and arguments. Aggressive children often threaten other students. These learners often fear the aggressor, who delights in showing herself as a fighter, both verbally and physically.

Are Parents to responsible for this

Your children can be aggressive for many reasons, some of them related to conditions that may be hereditary or home environments that are unhealthy. However aggression is not "handed down" from parent to child. Too often parents of aggressive children who are aggressive themselves should be honest with themselves and recognize that while they are not responsible for these behaviors in their children, they may be part of the problem and certainly can be part of the solution.

Delivering Presentation

8. End with a strong conclusion. Summarize your main points. For instance, if you presented about the dangers of drunk driving, you could list the main points of your presentation in a few simple sentences by explaining, “Drunk driving is extremely costly. Not only could you hurt or kill yourself or someone else, but you might crash your car and end up in prison. Don’t let that happen to you.” Thank the audience for listening and allow the next group to present.

7. Adopt a conversational style. By the time you present, you should feel confident about the whole presentation. Smile! Don’t stare at your notes during the entire time you’re presenting. Glance at them briefly and try to maximize the time you spend looking out at the audience. Keep your body language open by keeping your hands at your sides or in front of you. Don’t cross your arms.

Delivering Presentation

6. Use a story in your presentation. Listing fact after fact in a dry way can bore both you and your audience. Open your presentation with a story to foreground how important your topic is. For instance, if your presentation is on bicycle safety, you could present a story about someone who was hit by car but survived because he was wearing a helmet.
People love stories, and your presentation will be more memorable if you incorporate a story into your presentation. People connect through emotions, and a story can create that emotional response.

5. Use props, if they fit into your presentation. If possible, introduce props to illustrate your points. For instance, you could bring a small piece of amethyst or quartz if presenting on rock formations and pass it around the class. However, don't use too many props, as they can become a distraction.
If you're using props, practice incorporating them ahead of time.
It's also a good idea to arrange who will handle the props. For example, the person speaking at the time the prop is introduced may rely on another group member to actually display the prop.

4. Use your hands to emphasize key points. For instance, when insisting that the internet is “the greatest tool” in the hands of today’s historians, lightly bring your hand down on the lectern when you intone each of the three words. This will give you a stage presence and drive home the main points you’re explaining.

3. Dress the part. Some group presentations require little in the way of wardrobe adjustments. Other times -- if you’re a group presenting for a business class, for instance -- you’ll want to dress professionally. Men should wear a black, navy, or gray suit, a blue or white dress shirt, and a matching tie. Women have more options: a dress with a sweater over it, or a blouse and matching suit are good option.
Whatever your gender, choose muted earth tones and avoid transparent or mesh-like material.
Avoid brightly colored clothes and energetic patterns like polka dots or plaid.

Delivering the presentation

2. Be audible.

Project your voice to the back of the room to make sure everyone can hear you. Don’t mumble or speak into your notes or the computer. If you want to emphasize something, raise your voice. Use a lower volume when adding intensity.
