We are back with another edition of the field course on Odonatology.

A 10 days intensive course taught by eminent scientists and practitioners including two-days of fieldwork.

The course offered by the Chatur Ullu Lab team is a unique hands on course covering all the major topics in Odonatology (study of Dragonflies & damselflies).

The course is designed for students, faculty members, researchers, landscape architects, restoration practitioners, and enthusiasts.

Today is International Owl Awareness Day! How cool is that???

Owls are amazing creatures, at the same time they surround much mystery owing to their nocturnal habits and unique features.

Owls are natural predators of rodents and several other species that are referred as pests. They control populations of other animals and help maintain ecological balance.

The notorious global owl trade, rampant habitat destruction and loss, and environmental toxicity in terms of rodenticides and pesticides affect owls leading to mortality and reduced reproductive fitness.

Today, let us be aware of the incredible birds and make sure they remain Awesome as owlways!

The curious owl in the picture is Jungle Owlet Glaucidium radiatum from Central India.
