Sampling during Method Validation- some vital insights !!

The importance of sampling in method validation under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 lies in ensuring that the analytical results obtained during validation are representative, reliable, and applicable to the intended use of the method.

Although ISO/IEC 17025:2017 does not prescribe a fixed procedure for method validation, it requires that the entire analytical process, including sampling when relevant, be evaluated for its suitability. If sampling is inconsistent or biased, even a perfectly validated analytical method can give invalid or misleading results.

It is apparent that during validation, you must distinguish between analytical variability and sampling variability.

Third edition of Eurachem Guide on Method Validation specifically addresses this in detail at # 4.7 and needs attention of all laboratory professionals.

It was a great honour to be a Trainer at CQAL Laboratories, Bengaluru (Controllerate of Quality Assurance - Electronics, DGQA, Ministry of Defence).

It was a 3 days Internal Auditor course as per ISO/ IEC 17025: 2017 and really enjoyed the in-depth interaction with highly experienced team of 7 CQAL Labs which are accredited by NABL- India for almost a decade with more than 400 parameters under the Scope of Accreditation.

Program was well received and appreciated by Team CQAL !!

It was an amazing experience to attend 8th PTP/ RMP conclave organised by NABL at Mysore. Full of insightful presentations by stalwarts, great learning & updates on the subject by NABL and networking with fellow professionals was a fantastic takeaway !!

Training program on ISO 13528: 2022 Statistical methods for use in proficiency testing by inter-laboratory comparison was a much awaited program for me. It was a detailed one, full of exercises with a great clarity on evaluation approaches to be used for Quantitative, Semi- quantitative and Qualitative PT programs. Participants were highly interactive and Faculty Shri Subramanian was the most knowledgeable in the subject. Many thanks to NABL for this program !!!
