An American manufacturing CEO made headlines after ensuring that 540 full-time employees received a total of $240 million in bonuses following the sale of his family-owned company, Fibrebond, to Eaton Corporation.

As part of the transaction, the outgoing CEO, Graham Walker, insisted that 15 percent of the $1.7 billion sale proceeds be set aside for workers, even though they did not hold any equity in the business.

The bonuses, averaging around $443,000 per employee over five years, were intended to reward long-term loyalty and recognize contributions during challenging periods, including past economic downturns and operational hardships.
