The 3 Farm (Agriculture) Reform bills recently passed by both Houses of the Indian Parliament are, in my view, one more progressive step by the ruling NDA government to correct yet another one amongst many prevalent bad laws, and liberate the Indian farmer from artificially imposed restraints & restrictions. The amended bills will now allow a fair & transparent relationship between the farmers & the market forces (just as in the case of the rest of the Indian economy).
Politics apart, happy that this Govt had the sincerity & courage to ‘Walk its Talk’!!
What we now need, and soon, is for the Govt. to continue on the path of equity & fairness to all citizens of India, by introducing a tax on Agricultural Income, in its Income Tax Act. Currently, it’s absence is being used by many (mostly the wealthy & powerful) to avoid tax through potently fraudulent practices. We all know about the types who lead this dishonest pack....!
That, friends, to me, is yet another Litmus Test for this ruling Govt. !!
We in India say - “Jai Jawaan (who is subject to tax), Jai Kisaan (who is exempt)”!!
Is that fair??🤔😔☹️

A new India is emerging and telling the world that it will work even more dedicatedly to strengthen its ties, both economic & cutural, with its immediate & extended neighbours, as well as with brother nations with whom it already has strong ties of shared beliefs & the ideologies of self reliance & peaceful country-existence.

It will fight resolutely to resist & repel any kind of terrorism and expansionism, from wherever it may come. It’s motto resonates with the cause of enabling equal opportunity, social development & prosperity for all hard working citizens!

Heartening to note that India, with all the sincere policy making & improvements efforts made by the Narendra Modi administration, India as a nation has managed to break the ‘Top 100’ globally in ‘Ease Of Doing Business’!
A welcome development, these efforts need sustained focus, constant review & continual feedback seeking mechanism to ensure that these improvements are not one-time occurrences!
As professionals in the business of helping overseas SMEs & family businesses enter India for business - be it for setting up a base for marketing, sourcing, manufacturing or offering services, at IBA we find that significant improvements are still needed in the sense of process ownership and shared national vision by various functionaries at the lower and middle level. Their support to Ease of doing business (as well as Ease of closing a business) needs to be complete, self driven and sustained. As of today, it is lacking!
Once that happens, coupled with stability in Govt. policy and policy interpretation, India will not take too long to break the ‘Top 50’ list of countries under ‘Ease of doing business’ very soon!

"Here we come - Strong, robust, reinvigorated, rejuvenated and all set to grow strongly, responsibly & sustainably" - India Inc. is indicating to the rest of the world!

There will always be Doubting Thomas's in this world who will paint everything in a negative light! However, India Is making steady headway towards sustainable growth, with the various initiatives the Government has launched and is determined to attain! - with or without the support of the other political parties!

The Indian markets are looking up, the monsoons will be more than adequate and industrial production will rise further with rising domestic demand. Let us stop complaining, start working and focus on what more can be attained if we come together and strive with a positive spirit!

This Indian Lion has ' fire in his belly' to become an economic power-house in the world!
