ARS Broomstick Making Machine (ARS BS-7) is a small, semi-automatic machine made by ARS Engineering, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

Key Details:
Purpose: It extracts broom sticks (also called "eeki" or "warial") from shredded coconut leaves (a "wealth from waste" product popular in South India and coconut-growing areas).

बुरशी,,जैविक शेतीला मिळालेले एक वरदान,,,

जगातील जवळपास सर्व देशांमध्ये Trichoderma बुरशीचा वापर जैविक शेतीमध्ये केला जातो,,,

या बुरशीचा अजून थोडा परिचय सर्व सभासदांना होण्यासाठी ही पोस्ट टाकत आहे,,,

Trichoderma बुरशीचा इतिहास,,,

या बुरशीची ओळख ( identification) प्रथमतः Persoon या शात्रज्ञाने 1794 साली केली,,
परंतु ही बुरशी शेतीमधील विविध गोष्टींमध्ये मोठ्या प्रमाणावर वापरता येते हे दुसऱ्या जागतिक युध्दापासून संशोधकांच्या लक्षात येऊ लागले,,

तथापि याची पहिली यशस्वी फील्ड ट्रायल 70 च्या दशकात Sclerotium या हानिकारक बुरशीच्यावर केली गेली,,
त्यानंतर आजतागायत् यावरती संपूर्ण जगात अखंडपणे संशोधन चालू आहे,,,

जगात 60% पेक्षाही जास्त जैविक बुरशीनाशके आणि जैविक कीडनाशके या बुरशीच्या विविध प्रजाती वापरून तयार केले जातात,,यावरूनच आपल्याला या बुरशीच्या व्यापकतेची कल्पना येईल,,,

Trichoderma चे काम कसे चालते ?

या बुरशी मध्ये कोट्यवधी वर्षांपासून एक महत्वाचा गुणधर्म विकसित झाला आहे आणि तो म्हणजे Mycoparasitism,,अर्थात हानिकारक बुरशीचा नायनाट करणे,,,
झाडांना अपाय करणाऱ्या बुरशी अर्थात Fusarium,,Alternaria,,Sclerotium इत्यादीचा ही बुरशी नैसर्गिक शत्रू आहे,,,

थोडक्यात सांगायचे तर Trichiderma ही या सर्वांमध्ये किंग कोब्रा आहे,,तर बाकीच्या बुरशी छोटे साप आहेत,,,

त्याचप्रमाणे झाडांच्या मुळाशी ही बुरशी कॉलनी तयार करते आणि झाडांना विशिष्ठ संकेत देऊन,,इतर रोगकारक कीड आणि बुरशी पासून बचाव करण्यास उद्युक्त करते,,

सूत्रकृमी अर्थांत nematodes पासून वाचण्यासाठी ही कार्यपद्धती Trichoderma आणि झाडे संगनमताने वापरतात,,

Trichoderma, शब्दशः जळी,,स्थळी काष्ठी पाषाणी आढळते,,काही प्रजाती समुद्रात सुद्धा आढळून आल्या आहेत,,,

शेतीमधील बीज प्रक्रिया ते शेवटी उरलेल्या सेंद्रिय पदार्थांचे विघटन करणे या प्रत्येक टप्प्यावर या बुरशीचा खूप मोठा वापर केला जातो,,,

एका अर्थाने ही बुरशी जैविक शेतीचा कणाच आहे असे म्हटले तर वावगे ठरणार नाही,,,

शेतीसोबतच सस्तन प्राण्यांमध्ये होणारे बुरशिजन्य रोगांना अटकाव करण्याचे काम Trichoderma करते,,

हेवी मेटल्सचे जैविक व्यवस्थापन,,हे महत्वाचे काम Trichoderma करते,,

झाडांना अजैविक ताण ( हवामान,,तापमान,,क्षारपड जमीन ) असताना सुद्धा ही बुरशी जमिनीतील उपयुक्त मूलद्रवये त्यांच्यापर्यंत पोहोचवते,,,

सेंद्रिय कचरा व्यवस्थापन यामध्ये तर या बुरशीचा वाटा सिंहाचा आहे,,,

Trichiderma बुरशी संशोधनाची ची पुढील वाटचाल,,,

या बुरशीपेक्षा अजून ताकदवान उपयुक्त बुरशी अजूनतरी सापडली नाही आहे,,त्यामुळे,,माझ्यासारख्या Mycologist लोकांचे पुढचे काम हेच असणार आहे,,की निसर्गात सतत शोध घेऊन या बुरशीच्या तोडीस तोड असणारी बुरशी शोधणे,,,जेणेकरून रासायनिक शेतीत जितके जलद result मिळतात तेच result नैसर्गिक पद्धतीने शेतकरी आणि सेंद्रिय शेती,,बागकाम करणाऱ्या प्रत्येकाला मिळतील,,,
