The One Skill That Changed Everything for Me
You can have the best pitch, the perfect strategy, the slickest logo—
but if you can’t sit across from someone and hold a real conversation, none of it matters.
I learned this 10 years ago—
15 years old, fresh out of boards, freelancing as a real-estate broker.
My mentor tells me, “Saad, stall the client. Cars are busy.”
I walk into the room—terrified—and somehow end up talking to that man and his father for an hour and a half.
No script. No plan. Just curiosity.
And when I walked out, I felt unstoppable.
Not because I sold anything. But because I realized something:
people open up when they feel seen.
You can’t fake that.
You can’t automate that.
They’ll always know when you’re ticking a box… and when you truly care.
So if you want to get better at business, or sales, or even just life—
don’t chase better lines.
Chase better conversations.
Sit with people. Listen. Stay curious.
That’s the real edge.
