After some of our Vaayu servicings, when there’s no space to place the output material at the customer’s end, we spread it around the plants and trees near our office. Recently, we noticed bits of plastic mixed in it — and that made us pause.
So, our team decided to take up a cleanup drive. As we began collecting the plastic, Manju Tai, who has years of experience in waste segregation, guided us through the process. With patience and skill, she explained the different types of plastic and how to classify them properly.
Through this exercise, we learned that most of the segregated material can actually be reused or recycled — and that it even holds economic value when handled responsibly. With her guidance, we’ve now stored all the segregated dry waste neatly. Once full, it will be handed over to Swachh members who collect waste in our area.
This activity was a small but meaningful step toward becoming waste-responsible — understanding what we discard and ensuring it’s managed the right way.
Going forward, we’re committed to carefully segregating every bit of waste that comes to us and handing it over to responsible recyclers. Because this isn’t just about us — it’s about collective responsibility for the waste we create.
