National Sports Day

CMPDI celebrated National Sports Day 2026 with enthusiasm and active participation, promoting the importance of physical fitness, sportsmanship and a healthy lifestyle.

As part of the celebrations, CMPDI Headquarters, Ranchi, organised indigenous sports activities for the students of Birsa Munda High School, encouraging young participants to connect with traditional sports and embrace the spirit of teamwork, discipline and healthy competition. On Sunday, a fitness rally was organised, spreading the message of active living and incorporating physical activity into everyday life.

At CMPDI, RI-VII, Bhubaneswar, employees and their family members enthusiastically participated in the “Special Sunday on Cycle Edition”, encouraging cycling and other forms of physical activity. The initiative reinforced the importance of regular exercise in promoting physical and mental well-being.

Mining Plan for Tadicherla-I Coal Mine, prepared by CMPDI gets Approval of CCO, Ministry of Coal

Mining Plan & Mine Closure Plan for Tadicherla-1 Coal Mine (3.75 MTPA)of M/s TGGENCO (Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited), Telangana, prepared by CMPDI was presented and observations were complied and approval is accorded by the Coal Controller’s Organisation (CCO), Ministry of Coal (MoC).

The approval marks an important step towards the timely operationalisation of the coal mine, facilitating enhanced coal availability to meet the growing energy requirements of Telangana.

Completed within a record timeframe, the successful preparation, presentation and compliance of the plan reflects CMPDI’s technical expertise, agility and commitment to fast-tracking critical mining projects, contributing to enhanced coal production and strengthening the nation’s energy security

CMPDI Family Honours Three Superannuating Members

The CMPDI family organised a farewell and felicitation ceremony at the institute's "Mayuri Hall" on the occasion of the superannuation of three members. The superannuating
members include Dr. Shilpi Swaroop, Chief Medical Officer; Shri Raj Kumar Ram, Senior Data Entry Operator; and Shri Dinesh Chandra Dubey, Foreman In-charge.

On this occasion, CMPDI's Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Shri Chaudhari Shivraj Singh, honoured the retiring employees on behalf of the company by presenting them with a sapling, a citation, a memento, and a shawl. He praised the contributions of the retiring personnel and wished them a bright future, excellent health, happy, and long life.

During the event, the institute's Director (Technical/P&D) Shri Ajay Kumar, Director (Technical/CRD) Shri Nripendra Nath, and Director (Technical/R&D&T, BD) Shri Anand Mohan also praised the employees' contributions and extended their wishes for a bright future, good health, a happy, and long life.

Additionally, Union representatives Shri Prolay Bhattacharjee, Shri Munna Dutta, Shri Tuklal Nirala, and Shri Sarfaraz Ahmed, along with CMOAI representative Shri Amritanshu, addressed the gathering to share their thoughts and bid farewell to their colleagues.

CMPDI Joins the Nation in Celebrating National Sports Day 2026

National Sports Day 2026 is being observed as a three-day nationwide campaign from 28–30th August, with 29 August commemorating the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.

The campaign, themed “Tribute, Play, and Move”, celebrates India’s rich sporting legacy while promoting fitness, discipline, teamwork and active participation in sports.

As part of the observance, CMPDI paid tribute to Major Dhyan Chand and his enduring contribution to Indian sports, while encouraging employees to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and fitness. A range of sporting activities were organised, including Volleyball, Football, Table Tennis and Carrom, providing employees an opportunity to participate, compete and celebrate the joy of sports.
