Due date for for filing income tax return for year ended 31 Mar 2018 is 31 Jul 2018 (for non audit cases). If it is not filed by this date, then late fee will be levied as follows:-
If Return filed during 01-Aug- 2018 to 31 Dec 2018: Late fee Rs.5000 (Five Thousand).
If Return filed during 01 Jan 2019 – 31 Mar 2019 : Late fee Rs.10000 (Ten Thousand).
Please note in case of late filing, return will not be submitted without first paying the late fee as above.
You are advised to start arranging data and documents required for return filing,
to avoid last minute panic due to any technical or other problem such as AADHAR mismatch, server problem, personal problem, etc.
PS :- If the total income of the person does not exceed five lakh rupees, the fee payable under this section shall not exceed Rs Rs 1000/-.
