Today, on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we pause to honour and remember the transgender individuals whose lives were tragically lost to violence and discrimination. This day reminds us of the urgent need to amplify transgender voices, advocate for safety, dignity, and equal rights, and build a world where every transgender person can live openly, authentically, and without fear.
Let’s stand together, reflect, learn, and reaffirm our commitment to inclusion, empathy, and justice.

A day to thank the men in our lives for everything they do —
at home, at work, and in our communities.
For their support, their care, their quiet strength,
and all the things they do without expecting anything in return.

It’s also a gentle reminder for men to care for their own physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being — because so many of them put themselves last.

This year’s theme: ‘Celebrating Men and Boys’
A moment to pause, appreciate, and acknowledge them.

To all the men watching this —
we see you, we value you, we hear you, and we thank you.

Happy International Men’s Day 🤍

Today, we honour the wonder each child brings into the world — their individuality, their strengths, and the stories that shape who they are. Children of every background, ability, and identity deserve to grow in spaces where they are valued, included, and given the chance to thrive. May we continue building a world that recognizes every child’s worth and celebrates the differences that make them extraordinary.

Amanjot’s first bat was handcrafted by her father, a carpenter, when she complained that the boys were not allowing her to play because she did not have a bat. At 15, after her 10th board, when she wanted to join the cricket academy, they did not have any more slots open for women. That is when she enrolled herself with Nagesh Gupta a BCCI level-II coach.

Amanjot is the third Indian woman to have been awarded player of the match in her debut T20I. An all-rounder, middle-order batter, and a medium pacer, specialising in bowling the death overs.

Amanjot’s journey from hand-carved bat to player of the match is that of dedication, perseverance and comeback.

Left-arm spinner Sree Charani started her sporting journey with badminton and kho-kho. In her debut international T20 match against England, she picked up 4 wickets for 13 runs in 3.5 overs.

Nallapureddy Shree Charani was born and raised in Erramalle village, located in the Veerapunayuni Palli mandal of Andhra Pradesh’s Kadapa district. Her father works as a government employee at the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Project, while her mother is a homemaker. She is the first person in her district to rise to international sports.

It was her uncle, Kishore Kumar Reddy, a contractor, who not only encouraged her to play cricket but also used to practice with her every day, mentoring her.

She idolises 6-wicket hall by Yuvraj Singh and is also a big fan of Smriti Mandhana.

Her consistency and adaptability has won many hearts and also reserved her place in international game.

Initially, Radha played with a borrowed kit because she could not afford one herself. Her father was a vegetable vendor, and they stayed in a cramped house. Both her brothers used to make her practice by playing with her. At 15, she moved to Vadodara when her coach moved to Vadodara with his family.

In 2018, she was selected for her first international T20 series against South Africa in 2018. In 2020, she was part of the T20 World Cup squad of India when they finished as runners-up. She was also part of the Silver Medal-winning team at the Commonwealth Games 2022, along with the Asia Cup triumph in Bangladesh that same year.

A left-arm spinner, Radha is known for her accurate wicket-to-wicket bowling and outstanding fielding. Radha’s growth from practicing with a borrowed kit to the International Cricket arena is a story of skill and practice. She credits her rise to her coach, Praful Naik

As a child, Kranti was not allowed to play cricket because she was a girl. She used to stand at the edge of the field, returning the balls that strayed to the boys who were playing cricket. One day, the boys were short of one player, so they asked her to join. Initially, she was given the role of a fielder, but slowly she began to make her mark in bowling.

A cricket official spotted Krathi’s bowling pace, and she got an opportunity to join the academy. Rest is history. The academy helped her develop her all-around skills in both batting and bowling..

Her ability as a right-arm medium-fast bowler made her a valuable asset to the team. Her consistency and determination in performance during the Under-19 tournaments caught the attention of selectors, paving the way for his transition into professional cricket.

Kranti’s story from a village to the World Cup at 22, from “girls can’t play cricket” to everyone wanting their daughter to be like Kranti, from experiencing her father’s suspension in 2011-12 from the police department and getting him reinstated, is a story of how loud actions speak more than words. It is a story of perseverance, determination and self-belief.

As a child, Renuka was passionate about cricket and used to play with a cloth ball and a plastic bat or wooden sticks with the boys on the roadside in a small village, Parsa, in Himachal.

Her uncle was a PT teacher who spotted her talent and ensured she was admitted to the Dharamshala Cricket Academy, where her natural pace as a bowler caught the attention of the coach.

Renuka made her T20I debut against Australia in October 2021 and in 2022 her ODI debut. She became the leading wicket-taker at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and played a key role in India’s silver medal win. In 2022 she was also named the ICC’s Emerging Woman Cricketer of the Year.

Renuka picked her maiden five-wicket haul in T20 international cricket while playing against England during the T20 Women’s World Cup 2023 in South Africa. She became the first Indian — male or female — to register a five-wicket haul in the history of the T20 World Cup.

Renuka’s story exemplifies, how support from the loved ones can be the game changer to achieve one’s dreams.

Born in Mumbai, Jemimah’s family moved from Bhandup to Bandra to access better sporting facilities. She was coached by her father, Ivan, who was the junior cricket coach at her school.

Before she led India to victory with her unbeaten 127 in the match against the defending World champions, Australia, she was trolled for her Instagram reel. She also battles with anxiety. Her membership at the Mumbai Gymkhana club was cancelled due to her Instagram reels, and many labelled her a player not to be taken seriously.

She started her game as a top-order batter but was moved to the middle order to give the Indian team a strong finisher. She is considered the second most reliable batter after Smriti Mandhana. Being a natural athlete, she is also a fielder at all positions in the field.

Her other skills include playing guitar, and none other than Sunil Gavaskar had openly committed to jamming with her if India wins the World Cup.

Jemimah’s ability to show up every time with a smile, despite her mental health challenges, tells the world what resilience is all about

The youngest player to be brought into the squad as a replacement after Pratika Rawal was ruled out of the World Cup due to an ankle injury. At 10, she replaced her brother, who had taken ill, in an Under-12 boys’ tournament in Panipat, and was awarded the “Man of the Match” and “Man of the Series” awards.

In 2019, at just 15, she became the youngest player to play to represent India in T20 internationals.

In September 2019, when she was only 15 years old, she became one of the youngest players to represent India in T20 internationals. Known for her attacking style, she became the youngest Indian cricketer, regardless of gender, to play in all three formats of the game.

Shefali is a story of a woman from Rohtak, Haryana, rising to the international arena through passion, dedication, and grit.
She exemplifies the adage: “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.”

Deepti Sharma did not feel the need for a smartphone even at the age of 18. She adopted WhatsApp only because she had to be present in the Indian squad members’ group. Born in Agra, a chance throw while she had accompanied her brother to net practice, caught the coach’s eye and started her journey in cricket. She started with medium-paced bowling, moved on to slow bowling, and then developed an off-spin bowling style after recommendations from the selectors and local coaches, owing to her height and natural ball release. Her journey is a reminder that the world belongs to those who are willing to adapt and grow.
