Kalamkari Shawl:-
Inspired from the ancient Iranian craft of Kalamkari, which uses the techniques of hand painting using natural dyes to adorn luxury pieces of apparel is a wrap of Kashmiri Pashmina, which has been hand spun and hand woven by skilled craftsmen of the valley. The shawl begins its journey as the underbelly fibre of a Chanthangi Goat in the Ladakh region. This fibre is cleaned and combed and spun into threads by womenfolk over a Charkha like wheel known as Yinder. It is then passed onto a weaver who gives it the form of a shawl. The wrap, which is entirely handcrafted undergoes a stringent test for it to be certified as a GI Pashmina, one that is hand spun, hand woven and made in Kashmir. This shawl after weaving is passed on to a Kalamkari artisan, who paints a melodious mix of colors onto its plain white base. Finally, the shawl reaches the doorstep of a Sozni Kaarigar who embroiders this colorful piece of beauty into florets of varied shades. Exclusive and regal to wear,
Drape a classic Kalamkari Pashmina around your shoulders and let it inspire awe in the hearts of everyone who sets their eyes on it.
