“Our electricity bill went from ₹1500 to NEGATIVE ₹660.”

This is Episode 8 of People and Policies.

In this episode, I met Mr. Pratik Surati, a homeowner who showed me two electricity bills of his home. One was his older bill of around ₹1500 per month. The other was a recent bill showing a negative amount.

This change happened after he installed Navitas Solar Panels at his home.

Mr. Surati installed a 4 kW Navitas Solar Panels, which cost him around ₹2.25 lakh. Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, he received a government subsidy of ₹78,000, which was credited directly to his bank account.

The PM Surya Ghar scheme helps households install rooftop solar panels and generate up to 300 units of free electricity from their own roof.

The Navitas Solar Panel team handled the complete application and installation process. The panels were installed in about 15 days, and the subsidy amount was credited within a week. Since then, his solar power generation has been enough for his electricity bill to start coming in nega
