Basak, who works with the Disaster Management Department in Dhubri, often had to visit drug stores to procure medicines as a part of his Covid-19 duty. During his visits, he observed that stores used to throw away its stock of expired medicines.

However, for Basak, who has been making Goddess Durga idols for the past eight years using waste materials like used match sticks and wires, this year's idol could not be complete without merging the pandemic with the festival.

Rare one-eyed baby white shark found inside adult shark's stomach in Indonesia.
Jakarta: An incredibly rare baby albino shark with only one eye has been found by shocked fishermen in Indonesia.
The cyclops was found inside the belly of an adult shark that died after being caught in the nets while the fishermen were sailing across Maluku province.
The adult shark was cleaned and its belly was cut open to remove the gut where they found the tiny white shark inside.
It had one eye in the middle of its head and a milky-white color, its fins and other parts already formed.
Andy, 29, said the shark could have been pregnant with the rare baby before it was accidentally caught in the net on October 10.
He said: 'We found three babies inside its stomach, but one of them looked strange with only one eye. 'Its color was strange too, like milk.'
The fishermen reported the incident to the local marine office before turning over the baby shark.
The creature was already dead when they found it.
The baby shark had a condition called Cyclopia, a birth deformity that causes the embryo to form only one eye instead of two.

Its other condition, albinism, forces the shark to produce low amounts of melanin, which is responsible for pigment in the body.

Dr Anup Senapati, who is on Covid-19 duty at Silchar Medical College in surprised his patients by performing for them in order to lift up their spirits.

He performed to Roshan song 'Ghungroo' from the movie War wearing a PPE kit.

The video was shared by his friend Dr Syed Faizan Ahmad on Twitter. "Meet my duty colleague Dr Arup Senapati an ENT surgeon at Silchar medical college Assam. Dancing infront of COVID patients to make them

feel happy ," Ahmad wrote while sharing the video on Sunday.

The video of the doctor has gone viral on the internet.
On Monday, Hrithik Roshan retweeted the video and wrote, “Tell Dr Arup i'm gonna learn his steps and dance as good as him someday in Assam. Terrific spirit."

The Assam Government released the Durga Puja protocol on Tuesday. State Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that there is no trouble in conducting Durga Puja but the committees will have to follow the guidelines issued by the government.

The minister, while addressing a press conference at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati today said that the puja committees will have to take permission of the Deputy Commissioners.

The other guidelines issued by the government to celebrate Durga Puja are:👇👇👇

🛑The puja committees will have to conduct the puja in open pandals.

🛑No cultural functions, competitions will be allowed during the puja,Durga Puja pandals in Assam to shut by 10 pm.

🛑The restaurants will have to be closed by 9 pm.

🛑The main committee and the priests will have to mandatorily undergo the COVID 19 test on Panchami.

🛑The committee members will also have to undergo test after idol immersion.

🛑Mass immersion shall not be allowed this time around, adding that only a single idol shall be immersed at a time. Permission to immerse the idols should be taken 2-3 days prior from the district administrations. Processions accompanying the idols shall not be allowed.

🛑More than 50 persons will not be allowed in the pandals at a time.

🛑The committee will have to ensure that the pilgrims should enter the pandal with proper hand sanitization.

🛑No pillion riders will be allowed during Durga Puja barring ladies
who will only be allowed for pillion riding.

🛑The committees will have to ensure that there should be two gates in the pandals Entry & Exit.

🛑Lastly Dr Sharma added that DCs can modify some of these guideline as per situation on District to District Basis

Two CRPF personnel were killed and three injured as militants attacked a group of security personnel in  district’s Pampore area Monday, police said. The security personnel were part of a road opening party (ROP), which is deployed on certain stretches for safe movement of vehicles.

Militants opened fire near the Kandizel Bridge, near the national highway in Pampore area, around 12.50 pm. 

According to a CRPF spokesperson in Srinagar, the ROP came under attack around Monday noon and five personnel were left injured with multiple gunshot wounds. The injured were rushed to the Army’s 92 base hospital in Srinagar, where two personnel succumbed to their injuries.

The three others are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

“Unfortunately, we lost two of our jawans in the militant attack today,” said a CRPF officer, adding that the condition of the remaining three is “stable at the moment”.

According to the officer, a massive cordon-and-search operation was launched in the area soon after the attack. However, the security forces haven’t been able to find the attackers.
