🇮🇳 🇩🇰 From Udaipur to Denmark — Heritage Knowledge, Sustainable Cities & Global Collaboration

Honoured to receive this Certificate of Appreciation for my contribution to the Gumaniya Wala Nala Blue-Green Rejuvenation Initiative, Udaipur, Rajasthan, under the India–Denmark Collaboration.

The certificate was presented to me by Shri Abhishek Khanna, Commissioner, Udaipur Municipal Corporation, in the presence of Ms. Kristina Mardi, representing Aarhus Municipality, Denmark.

Receiving this recognition in the presence of representatives from both Udaipur and Denmark makes the occasion particularly meaningful to me. It represents what can happen when local heritage knowledge, international expertise and a shared commitment to sustainable urban development come together.

The Gumaniya Wala Nala initiative brings together heritage conservation, architectural design, sustainable urban development and nature-based solutions — exploring how culturally significant urban spaces can be rejuvenated while responding to the environmental needs of tomorrow.

For me, this recognition represents something much larger than a certificate.

It reinforces a belief I have carried through my work for years:

Our heritage should not merely be preserved. It should be thoughtfully integrated into the future of our cities.

My experience in heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, interior architecture, space planning and culturally rooted design has continually shown me that traditional wisdom and contemporary sustainability can strengthen each other.
