In 2021, “Durga Puja in Kolkata” was inscribed onto the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — making it the first festival in Asia to receive that honour.

This recognition is more than a badge — it’s a tribute to:

💫 Generations of artistry behind the clay idols, lighting, pandal design, folk music, ritual, and storytelling
🏘️ Community spirit where neighbourhoods unite to co-create beauty and shared experiences
🌱 Living tradition that evolves each year, layering modern messages, social themes, environmental consciousness
🌍 Cultural diplomacy — drawing visitors, curators, and curiosity from around the globe

Kolkata’s streets transform every autumn — glowing with artistry, echoed with dhak (drums), and buzzing with movement. This UNESCO tag says: you are now a heritage the whole world recognizes.

Let’s celebrate this. Let’s honour the artists, the organizers, the local communities, and every hand that made this possible.

🔻Start-up apps can die because of poor UX.🔻

Your first screen decides if users return. Great mobile UX drives loyalty and sales. On the contrary, cluttered layouts, weak imagery, vague buttons, missing trust signals, and non-responsive design, can repel users from using your app.

Do this instead:
- User-focussed navigation
- Minimal, consistent UI
- Clear CTAs + visible trust cues
- Responsive screens
- Faster loading time
- Accessible, sustainable patterns

UX isn’t just “looking good”—it’s using the right elements to create a seamless, intuitive journey.

✴️True Spirit of Raksha Bandhan / Rakhi Purnima:

Raksha Bandhan (commonly known as Rakhi Purnima or Rakhi) is a festival that celebrates the bond of love, protection, and care between brothers and sisters. The true spirit of Raksha Bandhan lies in the mutual respect, affection, and responsibility that siblings share towards each other. On this day, sisters tie a Rakhi (a colourful wristband made with sacred threads, and usually ornamented with sequins and genuine or artificial gemstones and pearls) on their brothers' wrists, symbolizing their love, prayers for their well-being, and the bond of protection. In return, brothers promise to protect their sisters and stand by them through thick and thin. The festival emphasizes the importance of familial bonds and strengthens the sense of security and commitment within families.

✴️ Origin of Raksha Bandhan:

The origins of Raksha Bandhan trace back to ancient Indian mythology. Several stories in Hindu texts describe the tradition of tying a protective thread. One popular origin story comes from the Mahabharata: Draupadi, the wife of the Pandavas, tied a Rakhi around the wrist of Lord Krishna, asking for his protection. In return, Krishna vowed to protect her, famously promising to rescue her from any harm. This act of mutual care and protection became the foundation for the Raksha Bandhan celebration. Another story comes from the history of Raja Shiharam and Rani Karnavati, where the Queen sent a Rakhi to Emperor Humayun, requesting his protection from invaders. Touched by her gesture, Humayun immediately rushed to her aid.

✴️Transformation of the Festival:

Over time, Raksha Bandhan has transformed from a purely brother-sister celebration into a more inclusive festival. While the traditional ritual remains central, the meaning of Raksha Bandhan has expanded to include bonds of friendship, mutual respect, and protection between all people. Sisters often tie Rakhis on not just their brothers but also close friends, cousins, and even their fathers. The commercial aspect of Raksha Bandhan has also grown, with intricate, decorative wrist bands being sold across markets, with new types of Rakhis being introduced each year.

While traditionally celebrated within families, the festival today is also marked by social gatherings and the exchange of gifts. Its spirit, however, remains rooted in the values of protection, love, and familial bonds, reinforcing the importance of human connections in today's fast-paced world.
