Applause Vadodara - Theatre and Art Theatre enthusiasts from various professions work by day and meet in the evenings to realize their theatre aspirations.

Applause Vadodara is a theatre initiative with an age-no-bar, gender-no-bar, language-no-bar type of philosophy with a mission to engage, empower and entertain through innovative Theatre experiences. Applause Vadodara is Vadodara’s first and the most unique theatre initiative open for all - with an age no bar, language no bar, gender no bar and profession no bar type of participation. rted as a page connecting theatre enthusisasts together in 2012, and emerged as a group by 2014, hosting workshops of Dramatics, and writing and producing plays. In the last two years Applause has created various properties such as the annual 10-Day theatre workshop ‘Step on Stage’, ‘Paper Poets’ and ‘Pen Stories’, connecting people to art, culture and theatre. The “Applause Theatre Yatra” being one of the most recent additions, where in groups of participants engage in theatre experiences through travel, outside the city. This year Applause hosted a two-city, three day Storytelling Festival in May, 2016 across Vadodara and Ahmadabad, through 8 events for different age groups. Applause has also collaborated with a number of agencies for various regular theatre programs for children and adults. Artists from Applause Vadodara have performed at various theatre festivals across the country such as Bharat Rang Mahotsav (NSD, Delhi) and Chitralekha Natya Sparda (Mumbai) and have also mentored college and school students to actively engage in Dramatics. Applause Vadodara aims to create value in society via theatre and connect more and more people to art.

Community is a big part of what drives Applause forward. It makes even the toughest times worth it. The fruits of labour are sweeter when shared.

The roaring Applause was well earned by the little stars on stage.

The fest saw at least 250+ people attending both the shows.

Over and above that we held:
>> Acting workshops for Children and For Adults
>> Storytelling Workshop for Everyone
>> Stall which created memories 🥳

We are absolutely proud to see that we have facilitated:
- Independent Actors who think on their feet
- Responsible Actors who care about what they do on stage

This is the journey and we celebrate each individual who goes through it.

Today's main issue of Divya Bhaskar features "A 100 Robberies" and what is the very first media mention of its vibrant cast.

Aahaana as Billo Baji the Resident Cat Lady
Aadhya as Minky Momos the Police Officer

Paridhi as Aamrus Mirchi the Detective
Ivaan as Jamunlal Draksh the Ghostbuster

The article discusses how our intelligent young actors devised the play themselves. It praises their efforts in spreading awareness about the environment. And notes the audience of around 250 members that watched the show.

It was truly a remarkable performance and we are very happy to acknowledge and appreciate all the work that was put in since day one.

The remarkable city of Golapur and the fabulous citizens of Mukhwasnagar had their own little adventure last week with the "100 ROBBERIES"

We are still basking in the smiles and cheers from the two shows and guess what? We have a mention in the papers today :)

To the space, Alembic Art District, the summer fest

100 ROBBERIES was especially designed for the Summer Fest at Alembic Art District. Based on a story by Apsara, the group came together to design an entire play with song, cheer, music, lights and sets.

We wanted the summer break to be special for children, so this program was designed to be "hands on". The devised production had children involved in every step:
Character Development
Costume
Set Designing (they painted the backdrop....parts ;))
Music
And dialogues developed through Improvization and rehearsal.

It was a remarkable journey, we are super proud of the kids! Big shout-out. 🤗

A peek into our last day of the Public Speaking Workshop that happened from 22 April.

We explored the tips and tricks of better public speaking. The children who had been a little shy opened up to us completely by the end of it. As you will see at the end of the reel. :)

All in all it was a great success.
