Founded in 2003 the South Group Corporation (SouthGroupCo) serves both the local and international clients in the Basra Governorate. SouthGroupCo has responded positively to the post-conflict challenges of reconstruction and the rehabilitation and development of the oil & gas industry in southern Iraq. SouthGroupCo has undertaken many significant construction and Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) risk man
agement projects achieving an annual turnover of $60m in 2011. The SouthGroupCo continues to extend its engineering and UXO capabilities to meet the needs of an expanding client base in southern Iraq. SouthGroupCo strongly believes in the importance of Corporate Governance. We try to balance the interests of the different stakeholders. Good entrepreneurship, including integrity and transparency of decision-making by the Managing Board as well as proper supervision of this management are the starting points for SouthGroupCo Corporate Governance. The Company also wishes to pay due consideration to the interests of the local community which we active through our sponsored NGO Al-Janob.
