✅According to the narrations of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, the beginning carpet weaving dates back to the time of Tahmures, that is, the time of the Pishdadian dynasty. In the History of the Prophets and Kings book, there are articles about carpets woven with animal hair and wool in this period.

✅Iranian carpet has experienced many ups and downs in different historical periods, but The Safavid period can be considered the most brilliant period in the history of Persian rug.

✅The most famous carpet left from the historical periods of Iran is the Ardabil carpet, which is kept in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

✅The rug was found in 1949 in the grave of a nobleman in the Bolshoy Ulagan dry valley of the Altai Mountains in Kazakhstan.

✅The Pazyrk rug had been frozen in the ice and it was very well preserved. The rug has a ribbon pattern in the middle, and a border which has deer, and warriors riding on horses. All parts of the rug are made of wool, including the pile and the base.

✅The origin of the rug is unknown. There are different theories regarding the origin of the carpet.

Last year on august, more than 850 manufacturing companies and export businesses took part at 28th Iran Handmade Carpet Exibition at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds.
