Can you pinpoint where Dr. Neil R. Banerjee, Economic Geology Professor at Western University, was standing in the river during his visit to the Thor’s Valley Project in Iceland?

The clues are all around! Those rapids are packed with geological features—there are plenty of “veins” to spot.

In the photo with the rock hammer, you can clearly see a quartz vein alongside a breccia zone exposed in the riverbed.

And don’t miss this detail —look closely at the far-left image and you’ll notice power line wires in the bottom left corner.

Check out the collection of mineralized quartz vein samples (photo on left) selected by Professor Dr. Neil Banerjee while visiting the Thor’s Valley project in Iceland.

Also shown is a great example of a classic epithermal banded vein found by Dr. Lisa Van Loon. The distinct black band represents fine-grained sulphide mineralization.
