Every great adventure starts with a single step… or in this case, a single query letter! ✉️🦖🌍

There’s no better day than to share the next big step of our journey!

For the past five years, I’ve been dreaming up a children’s book series inspired by my girls and our globe-trotting adventures. And now? It’s finally happening! 🎉 I’m officially in the query phase—sending Lulu LaRue out into the world in search of her perfect publishing home.

This journey has been packed with joy, edits, revisions, and so much tea. ☕ But watching Lulu come to life—solving mysteries with her dapper dinosaur, Dash, and zipping around the world on Piglet, her purple Vespa—has been pure magic. I hope her stories will inspire little adventurers everywhere to find courage, curiosity, and delight in the everyday.

Kyoto is just pure magic! For our next few posts, we're happy to "shrine" some light on our favorite temple visits in this city of over 1600 temples and 400 shrines! ⛩️🇯🇵

Kiyomizu-dera Temple is a must-visit in Kyoto! This is one of the oldest temples in Japan built in 773 even though the construction was completed in 1663. The temple was built after the dream of a Hosso Buddhist monk who foresaw a golden river flowing down Mt Otowa above Kyoto.

This historic temple offers breathtaking views of the city. We were lucky to experience beautiful Kiyomizu-dera at sunset. The most spectacular thing about this temple is that there is no single nail used in the construction of the complex. Most spectacular thing about our visit was that we carried and pushed a stroller up hundreds of stairs to visit it, and survived!
