Morning: our CLIMARTIVISTS experienced *Flow* 🌊 at the iconic Cinema Lumière! 🎞️ a powerful animated film that sparked thoughtful conversations on climate, nature, and the role of storytelling. A big thank you to Cineteca di Bologna for hosting us! 🎥✨

Afternoon: the first workshops at 🎨 where creativity met sustainability, and ideas began to take shape. From discussion to hands-on exploration, the energy in the room was all about turning inspiration into action.

From reflection to creation: Day 1 set the tone for what’s ahead. 🌍💚

Are you a teacher looking for ready-to-use materials on climate, sustainability, and food systems?

As partners in The Food Odyssey, an E+ project, we are happy to share the Teachers’ Toolkit: a set of free, downloadable slide decks designed to help you bring these topics into your classroom.

The toolkit includes PPT slide decks aligned with the four modules of The Food Odyssey Training Course for Teachers:
1️⃣ Anthropocene – humanity’s impact on the planet
2️⃣ Food systems – food as perpetrator, victim, and solution
3️⃣ Ecological footprint – measuring our impact and making more sustainable choices
4️⃣ Gamification & game-based learning – creative methods to engage students

The slides:

Are in PPT format, easy to adapt

Include images and links to additional resources

Are organised by module, so you can use them as full lessons or pick and choose what fits your context

They have already been downloaded more than 60 times, and we are very curious to see how teachers will use and customise them in different schools and countries.

This year, we have been crushed by the news that the world breached the critical 1.5°C warming threshold for 12 consecutive months. 🌡️ At the same time, we’ve witnessed yet another cycle of overconsumption with events like Black Friday and the surge of international shipping it fuels. 📦🛍️ These changes aren’t just statistics—they’re reshaping ecosystems, intensifying extreme weather, and reminding us that we need to change our path, we need to change it radically!

📖 Inspired by Less Is More: How Degrowth Will Save the World, we’re reflecting on how our relentless drive for “more” is a big part of the problem. What will it take for us to make the changes we need with the urgency they demand? How can we embrace circularity and sustainability instead of excess? 🌱♻️

Last Friday, our team gathered for a full-day brainstorming session to shape the future of our future projects. It wasn’t just about plans, opportunities and call deadlines — it was about ensuring our creativity and passion are channelled into actions that truly serve our communities and our planet.

Actions that contribute to sustainability transitions with an ecological mindset at heart.

Moments like these, spent together (in this case, we had the privilege to gather in the inspiring setting of Il Poggiolo - Rifugio Re_Esistente), remind us how critical it is to pause, reflect, and challenge ourselves.

Collaboration and cross-fertilization spark ideas that individual efforts cannot achieve alone.

We left with tired minds but reignited hearts, ready to tackle the road ahead. 💡💪
