Prost!

Let’s kick it off! Das Projekt GRACE ist offiziell gestartet! 🌱🦋

Let's kick it off! Il progetto GRACE è ufficialmente partito! 🌱🦋

Inoltre, persegue i seguenti obiettivi:

🇵🇱🏔️ Last week, a team from our Institute travelled to Rzeszów, Poland, to take part in two key events: the 11th Meeting of the Carpathian Convention Working Group on Tourism and the Final Conference of the Interreg Central Mountains project, hosted by the project’s Lead Partner, Rzeszów County.

After three years of collaboration, the Central Mountains project is approaching its conclusion, and these meetings offered an important opportunity to bring the full partnership together, reflect on achievements, and discuss commitments for the future.

🙏 Thank you
We extend our thanks to Rzeszów County and the Association of the Carpathian Euroregion for hosting these events, and to all project partners for three years of meaningful cooperation.

More information on the final project deliverables is coming soon.

The Interreg Central Europe Humanita Project, which has focused on researching and formulating strategies to address tourism impacts within protected areas, is nearing its completion. On 24th and 25th February, the final conference of the project was held in Zagreb, providing an opportunity to present the results achieved and to engage in a fruitful exchange of knowledge with professionals, policymakers and technicians from European nature parks and protected areas. Our colleagues, Paola Menzardi and Isi De Bortoli, with D’Inzeo and Lochmann illustrated the most significant results of the participatory monitoring activities, correlating the profiling carried out on visitors to protected areas with the engagement and educational actions necessary to bridge the knowledge and behavioural gaps for more conscious, sustainable approaches with natural ecosystems. A specific focus was placed on presenting methodologies for developing heritage narratives to influence tourists' self-perception and encourage them to adopt responsible and active conservation behaviours. Eurac presented and distributed the first printed copies of the manual “Guidelines for New Communication Heritage Narratives in Visitor Management”.

The event not only celebrated the completion of the project but also offered a chance to explore Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia’s first and largest national park, established in 1949 and renowned for its natural beauty. We would like to extend a special thank you to all our Partners for their productive collaboration over these years of working together, to the Lead Partner, the Žilinská univerzita v Žiline, for their competent overall management of the project, and to Notitia for the excellent organisation of the conference and for their warm hospitality in Croatia. The cooperation that began with Humanita does not stop here but aims to strengthen further in the coming years, with a network for the exchange and implementation of activities already underway and the launch of new ones that will see us all participating and working together to push ourselves further and continue to advance in the field of environmental protection and tourism management.
