Cà Montalbano

Cà Montalbano Cà Montalbano Winery & Vineyards, Est 1763. Birisghella - Romagna - Italy

Cà Montalbano Winery was born in 1981 from the remains of what was an ancient rural building built in 1763, keeping the historical landmark name, as a modern winery has become a well-known local wine producer for the quality, consistency and the irreverent blending taste of the wines. With 22 vineyards hectares entirely oriented to the southwest and millenary olive trees belonging to the autochtho

nous Brisighella's Olive Trees cultivar, Ca' Montalbano produce extra virgin olive oil and high-quality wines thanks to the very low yields per hectare and a deep care in product research. Sangiovese, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Malvasia are the grapes that adapt themselves to a careful harvest and a vinification process that exalt those who are the natural grapes, a perfect mix of tradition and taste for a high-class modern wine bottle. The vineyards grow with minimal intervention as well as a timely pruning performed in order to limit the production of grapes for emphasizing the organoleptic characteristics and the persistence of the flavor. Low yields favored by freezing winters and dry summers with stinging cold nights drive through late September harvests,
wisely hand selected bunches give to our wines a delicate and distinctive flavor and promote the inevitable differences between each season.Delicate passages in wooden barrels soften the tannins and projecting toward a prolonged natural aging over time while refining the taste and embracing the history of Romagna's wine land.

Today Nonna Tonina walked on the afterlife, with the wind and the passion of an outstanding “Sfoglina” and with the warm smiles of many winters. We will always remember as a good spirit, a part of our extended family that took its way but will always be with us every day. Thank you for many good thoughts, good recipes and the warmest spirit of who we are: Romagna.
A cheers to the ones who leaves and a cheers to the one who stay and pursue the streets of passion, of good food and the fine taste of our wines.

Last Sunday at CLASSIC CLUB was a blast. We truly appreciate and promote a wine culture typical of the aperitivo vibe, next time hopefully we would have more Sangiovese Superiore bottles and a sparkling blend of Chardonnay and Malvasia that works perfect for Spritz!

Harvest 2018 has been a low production and high percentage of alcohol volume for Camontalbano Winery & Vineyards. Over 17% for our grapes! Unfortunately we are not making our famous 5 star Riserva with this grape this year, we are restructuring our plants and our Vignes for the next upcoming season.

Explaining how sulfates, as sulfur based salt or bisolfito in our regional dialect are true preservation for wine bottles during shipping and during temperature shocks. Did you know that every wine has sulfates and in minor percentage they guarantee acid levels and help maintain the wine flavors without any consequences and headaches? We are not against natural wine, but no one want to have bad surprises when opening a good bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and use it only for cooking!

A sincere glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, with 10 month of aging in steel barrels and 18 month on barriques with 8 month minimum lay down in bottles for the smoothest refinement is an ultimate incomparable pleasure that any finest perlage will never achieve. We believe in soil, sun, passion and tannins as the avant-garde in contemporary winemaking believing in a well structured rounded taste as a milestone for each of Camontalbano bottles.
