16 nations, 283 rowers on the starting line! 🚣‍♂️

The 26th edition of the Marathon Skiff Ruder Regatta took place this weekend in Klagenfurt, Austria, perfectly organized by RV Albatros🇦🇹, led by W***y Koska.

As the official supplier, Filippi provided the boats, with the technical support of our German🇩🇪 dealer .

A big thank you to all the participants who chose Filippi to take on the 16 km race!

Needless to say, preparations for LA 2028 are already well underway.

Last weekend, some of the top rowers from the Elite teams of the United States🇺🇸, Australia🇦🇺, Great Britain🇬🇧, Canada🇨🇦, Norway🇳🇴 and New Zealand🇳🇿 gathered in Long Beach for a 1,500-metre test on the Olympic course.

USRowing provided the boats, including a number of Filippi🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️ shells, as you would naturally expect given our partnership with the USRowing Elite Team, which runs through December 2029.

Two days of course assessment and fun, bringing together many of the stars✨ of the latest World🌏 Championships — several of whom we’ll see again this coming weekend in Boston for the Head of the Charles.

Five years ago, they earned New Zealand🇳🇿, themselves, and Filippi an Olympic Men’s Eight gold medal in Tokyo🇯🇵 - a moment that will remain forever part of our history.

To remember that magical Friday, July 30, 2021, at the Sea Forest Waterway in Tokyo, Tom Mackintosh, Hamish Bond, Mike Brake, Dan Williamson, Phil Wilson, Shaun Kirkham, Matt Macdonald and Sam Bosworth, will reunite on Sunday, October 18, at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, where they will race in the Men’s Eight.

And, of course, our Filippi F49🚣 will be there too, brought all the way from Italy especially for this reunion, thanks to the efforts of Dan Williamson, who was sitting in seat #4 in Tokyo and is now a highly regarded coach at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

Unfortunately, Coach Tony O’Connor will not be able to join the reunion, and Tom Murray will be replaced by Ollie Maclean, who was not in the boat in Tokyo but was part of the New Zealand team🇳🇿.

Apart from that, everything will be in place to bring back the memories of that unforgettable night in Tokyo five years ago - in the midst of the COVID - when Filippi reached a dimension that seemed almost unimaginable at the time.

Today, that dream has proudly become an everyday reality, as demonstrated by the 10 medals out of 12 won at the recent World🌏Championships in Amsterdam🇳🇱.

Five years later, the boat, the people and the story come together again.

From Tokyo to Boston.

From an Olympic dream to a lasting legacy. 🇳🇿🇮🇹🚣‍♂️

The city of Milan🇮🇹was the perfect location to host the Brooks Brothers Rowing Cup, a unique event that combined sport, style, and friendship. In the Darsena, just a short walk from the historical Navigli canals , 250 mt sprint race showcased the atmosphere and charm of iconic competitions like the River Thames Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge, and the Royal Henley Regatta.

Both Oxford🇬🇧 and Cambridge🇬🇧 took part in the competition, racing in the mixed eights provided by the organizers, alongside the Italian crews from Bocconi University of Milan, Canottieri Roma, Aviron HEC Paris🇫🇷, Triton Utrecht🇳🇱, Canottieri Milano, and the all-Italian Brooks Brothers All Stars✨ team.

Making Brooks crew's victory even more special was the presence of Italian🇮🇹 Olympians Gabriel Soares, Andrea Panizza, and Alice Codato on board.

Special thanks to Brooks Brothers Europe and event director Mauro Messina for the organization and for choosing Filippi for this event, which in the organizers’ minds, could eventually expand to other European🇪🇺 locations.
