Ci lasciamo alle spalle un maggio instabile, con sbalzi termici dai 4°C della notte al caldo quasi estivo del giorno. Uno stress non da poco per le piante nel pieno della loro crescita!
Ora però siamo nel momento più cruciale dell'anno: la fioritura. In questi primi dieci giorni di giugno è arrivata la fioritura. È una fase delicatissima in cui la vite non ama gli eccessi del meteo (niente super caldo o temporali), ma preferirebbe una tiepida tramontana per aiutare i fiori a trasformarsi in acini.
Nel frattempo noi non ci fermiamo e continuiamo a lavorare tra i filari con la spollonatura, pulendo il tronco della pianta dai germogli in eccesso.
We are leaving behind an unstable May, with sharp temperature swings from 4°C at night to almost summer-like heat during the day. This has been quite stressful for the vines, which are in the middle of their growth spurt!
But now we have reached the most crucial moment of the year: flowering has arrived during these first ten days of June. It is an extremely delicate phase where the vines do not like extreme weather (no intense heat or heavy storms); instead, they would prefer a warm north wind (tramontana) to help the flowers turn into grapes.
In the meantime, we are keeping busy in the vineyards with suckering (spollonatura), clearing the excess shoots from the trunks of the vines.
