TURNING STRESS INTO SUCCESS
Sometimes stress can sort of sneak upon us. We lose sight of our goals, even just a little bit, or stop clearly defining why we want the things we do — what our motivation really is — and we simply keep going through the tasks. Why do we do this? Because we can’t just sit down on our asses and do nothing, right? That’s not what’s expected of us!
Except you can, and maybe even should from time to time. Smash that pause button, catch your breath and get back to the source of things. You’re chasing a sense of purpose, a mission you’re after, right? But who chose that mission? Really?
Sometimes we let everything else in our life decide our next moves, and over time we begin to believe we’re making the choice. But we’re not.
So, strip all this extra stuff away, take a closer look behind the curtain. What’s really going on? Was it you that chose these goals, or were you trying to live up to some kind of expectation you believed you had to?
When you really slow down and take a closer look, you might be surprised at what you find. This is a good thing though, it lets you get back to the basics and from this place, the basics, you can re-build. You can choose what you really want, what it means to you. You can define a mission that makes sense.
When you know your mission, you know your next steps, and the more you focus on these things, the more control you take back. That’s one way, a powerful way, to beat stress. Simply take a closer look at why you do the things you do.
