The Winery name comes from the term “ 1 pio’ “ a measurement used by local farmers in Brescia Province in Northern Italy to indicate the dimension of 1/3 of a hectare, dimension of the Winery. re due first of all to years of travelling the world, learning different styles and tecniques of winemaking as well as the deep experience in the family’s winery. She takes care of the production with an experienced troupe of professionals, because she believes in the quality of wine. Since wine is “barbatella", Ilaria chooses the best ones, to let the grapes grow on green and solid trunks, situated in well-groomed terrains, worked with only quality products in full compliance of the ecosystem. She produces wine for passion, it’s a life philosophy based on the respect of nature that surrounds us. Onepiò Winery produces wine in two different locations : Lugana and Valpolicella Classica. Onepio’ Lugana vineyards are dedicated to the study of Lugana variety through two different techniques. Overall 30 hectares: 5 ha cultivated with the traditional system and the others are going to be biological . Valpolicella Classica vineyards are about 3 rented hectares. Two different regions , two of the smallest italian micro zones with almost the same features: mild climate, not so cold winters and warm summers. This allows the soil and the mature grapes to have major extract of sugar perfectly ready for the harvest time.
