🇮🇹 In Italy, summer has its own invisible enemy: il colpo d’aria.

That dangerous little blast of cold air Italians are convinced is waiting to attack your neck the second you turn on the AC. 😂

Air conditioning at 22c/72f? Scarf on.
Window open in the car? Absolutely not.
A breeze hitting your neck while you’re sweaty?
🤔Sei pazzo?!

But here’s the plot twist… Nonna might actually have a tiny bit of science on her side. 👀

A Harvard-affiliated study found that dropping the temperature inside the nose by about 5°C significantly reduced one of the nose’s natural antiviral immune defenses.

So does colpo d’aria actually cause stiff necks and every other illness Italians blame on it?

👉🏼Nonna… and now maybe Harvard will say yes 😂🇮🇹

🇮🇹 Br**ta Figura is one of those Italian concepts that doesn’t translate perfectly.

Literally, it means “bad figure,” but it’s really about making a bad impression or behaving in a way that reflects poorly on you.

Being rude, dressing inappropriately, causing a scene, or forgetting your manners? That’s fare una br**ta figura. 😬

In Italy, how you present yourself matters. La bella figura is the goal. 😉

🇮🇹 Do you need a vacation from your vacation?

Why not take a few days to unwind after your next Italian sightseeing adventure before going back to reality.

this spring, we had back-to-back work events and decided to take a few days to unplug, unwind at on the Tuscan Island of Elba.

Turns out it was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries.

🏨 Where to stay?
We stay for 2-4 weeks at a time so we usually rent an apartment with a kitchen etc...
There are so many holiday apartments, hotels in every category based on your needs and budget.

📍We’d love staying near Ampleas and Naoussa. This way most of the best beaches, restaurants etc... are within 15-20 minutes driving.
