This week in AffittoPLUS, we were on the search for properties that had special features that would make great full-time homes in amazing locations. And we found some doozies!

The Editor’s pick is in the sometimes chaotic, sometimes romantic, sometimes unpredictable city of Naples. It is a beautiful 3 bed/2bath in the University district that is perfect for full time living in this vibrant city. It is furnished very nicely, and the price is excellent for the size and quality in the city.

For our Location Spotlight, we focused on Belluno, which is one of my favourite northern cities. It is a lively city, with lots to see and do, and if you love the outdoors and nature, the fact that it is the only city that is within a National Park is sure to spark your interest.

We also did a little diversion in the learning post and decided to explain some of the many different shops in Italy and how you can use their names to help with your language learning.

This week in AffittoPLUS, we visited Messina, a city that is considered the gateway to Italy (well, Sicily at least). Although parts of this city may be a little industrial, there are some very nice apartments in residential areas that are still within walking distance to everything. If you are considering living in this part of Sicily, you can find some very good prices and a low cost of living, which having all of the services you expect from a bigger city.

The Editor’s pick however, is just outside of Naples in a seaside city called Portici. This mid-sized city is on the water and the buildings and architecture are quite beautiful. The apartment we found is inside a beautiful building, and occupies the top floor. It is a 1bed/1bath and available on (negotiable terms) to the lucky one who grabs it first! The stunner is the exclusive use of the rooftop terrace.

This week in AffittoPLUS, we have looked for a little higher priced property, starting from 800 euro /month to show you the difference in location and features that a little more rent will give you. Remember that features like views, terraces, and being closer to a city will always cost more.

Rents in Italy are starting to climb, but compared to many North American cities, they are still quite affordable.

The Editor’s pick is an incredible restored apartment in the historical centre of Lucca in Tuscany. This apartment has a panoramic terrace that overlooks the Tuscan rooftops that is super rare. This apartment is not going to last so, if it is within your criteria, let us know asap!

There is also a little apartment in Amalfi that is normally on tourist rentals but has been just opened for a transitory (up to 18 months) and with residency – which is quite rare.

However, there are many steps to reach the property so be sure to be honest with yourself if you can do 200 steps every day.

For our Location Spotlight, we focused on Aosta Valley (just to spark your winter wonderland dreams) and highlighted some unique features of this area that will help you decide if the North is a fit.

This week in Affitto, we found some great properties at incredible prices in the beautiful city of Treviso in the north. Rents in the north tend to be higher, but not these ones.

Then we checked out properties close to the Renaissance city of Siena and found a few interesting choices, including a total white one for those without any pets. Further south we found a newly renovated, bright apartment in Salerno and another huge one for the whole family (and then some) in Lecce.

The editors pic, is a countryside apartment overlooking the hills of Siena, where you can spend endless days, gazing at the view that is sure to inspire the hidden writer in you.

This week in Affitto plus we found a way to make living in the cities stylish and affordable!

We found a gem in the centre of Rome that is the perfect solution if you want to be close to Piazza Navona and not break the bank! But that’s not all…

We found apartments in Florence for just over 600 a month (unheard of) and one in Lucca that is so charming, I am dreaming of the floors!

But my pick this week is in Noto. The beautiful Baroque city in Sicily that has iconic buildings and architecture to feed your eyes every day. This is a single house with a little garden and stylish décor.
