2024 Sottobanco: 93 points
The 2024 Sottobanco is slightly cloudy with a subtle orange hue and a wild bouquet of fermented ginger, pine shavings, lemon zest and crushed nectarines. This is decidedly savory and full of zesty tension, with vibrant acidity driving its citrus-infused orchard fruits across the palate. A sweet-and-sour sensation emerges through the long and incredibly fresh finale, where a floral resonance and nuances of confectionery spice slowly fade. This is a total pleasure to taste. The 2024 is 100% Procanico matured entirely in cement after three to four days of skin contact.
2024 Alea Viva: 93 points
Crushed blackberries, dusty dried violets, crushed rocks and nuances of blood orange smolder up from the 2024 Alea Viva. This opens with a balanced inner sweetness that tart wild berry fruits, citrus tones and vibrant acidity quickly offset. It finishes with lovely length, firm and pleasantly chewy yet still energetic with hints of licorice and black cherry. This varietal Aleatico continues to be one of the most racy but complex wines from the region.
