On October 23, 1913, the Castel Sallegg team celebrated the end of the harvest, proudly posing with the traditional handmade harvest wreath as we still have it today.

More than a century separates this photograph from today, yet the tradition remains. The harvest wreath still marks the close of the season, celebrating the work, dedication and shared efforts of everyone involved.

Countess Kuenburg carefully preserves photographs like this one, keeping the memories and stories of past generations alive and sharing these precious glimpses into the history of Castel Sallegg.

Harvest 2026 is officially complete! 🍇

The last load of grapes has arrived at Castel Sallegg, marking the end of this year's harvest. Following tradition, we celebrated the occasion with a handmade harvest wreath and a well-deserved toast.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing team for their hard work, dedication and passion throughout the season!

While the vineyards are settling into autumn, the work continues in the cellar. We look forward to seeing what the 2026 vintage will bring. 🍷

We are proud and deeply grateful that our Chardonnay Marei 2023 has been awarded Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso — a wonderful recognition for a w**e that is very close to our hearts.

Marei has its roots at Seehof, at 230 metres above sea level, in the immediate vicinity of Lake Kaltern. Here, the vines grow on medium-heavy, humus-rich sandy clay soils over calcareous gravel — a distinctive terroir that shapes the character of this Chardonnay.

Harvest is slowly coming to an end. 🍇

After weeks of movement in the vineyards, crate after crate has made its way to the cellar. Now, only a few varieties are still waiting to be picked, before the vineyards gradually become quiet again.
