🌱 New Research Publication | Advancing Regenerative and Inclusive Tourism
We are pleased to share the publication of a new research article in the Journal of Sustainable Tourism:
“Relational–regenerative leadership among women entrepreneurs in food tourism”, by Alicia Orea-Giner, Daniela Freund and Itziar Ramírez-García. Relational–regenerative leadership among women entrepreneurs in food tourism.
The study explores how women entrepreneurs in food tourism enact leadership through care, collaboration, regenerative ethics and collective governance, while navigating the structural and gender-related challenges that influence their opportunities, recognition and access to resources.
🌍 The publication strongly connects with the vision of the EcoHarmony project, which promotes more sustainable, regenerative, inclusive and community-oriented approaches to tourism through education and capacity building.
The research highlights several themes closely aligned with EcoHarmony’s educational objectives: strengthening local communities, supporting regenerative tourism practices, encouraging ethical and inclusive approaches to tourism, and recognising the importance of collaboration and stakeholder participation in creating more sustainable tourism ecosystems.
A key contribution of the study is its relational–regenerative leadership framework, which brings together three interconnected dimensions: relational care, regenerative ethics and collaborative governance.
The findings remind us that the transition towards more sustainable and regenerative tourism is not only about environmental practices. It is also about people, leadership, inclusion, equity, local communities and the way responsibility and resources are shared across tourism systems. 🌿🤝
👏 Congratulations to the authors on this valuable contribution to the ongoing conversation around the future of sustainable and regenerative tourism.
