I struggle every time somebody asks me what I do, because no two clients are the same. I work with two accountants and do completely different things for them.

What you and your business needs is as individual as you are.

Usually we start with the biggest pain point and work from there outwards, relieve something instantly and work on the long term end goal of where you want to be and how you want things to run eventually.

It's not just admin, its all of the loose ends that get lost in the day to day, the slow drip, drip, drip of losing efficiency, losing sales through poor customer service, losing cash flow through poor credit control.

Everything that you know needs to improve but you don't have time to do it - that's what I'm here for.

'Managing emails'
This week I spent an hour and half on a clients' emails looking for historic invoices that hadn't been uploaded to their accounting software.

Now, I am no accountant but here is the rough maths - over 10 invoices found = £1750
VAT on those invoices = £300

My hourly rate (on a retainer) - £30/hour x 1.5 hours = £45

Some of those invoices were months old and hopefully now this will be managed on time going forwards, but this demonstrates what a lot of what I do is and where the value lies.

It's not so much bringing in big sales and cold hard cash, but stopping spillage through the cracks, you do what you are good at and I stop you losing any of it in places that it shouldn't be lost.

Spot the difference!!

My husband sent me the first photo, pleased with how well Gemini had removed the clutter from the background, I hadn't seen the original but my first comment was -

Why is the pony grey?!!

He hadn't even noticed that it had changed the pony's colour without being asked!! (Also what is with my very orange tan?!)

I keep saying it and will continue to do so - AI is all great, but you are always going to need humans to check the work!!

This is what makes the difference between myself and a lot of other VA's out there, we can all use AI but my strength is my brain, my ability to predict the process and outside factors that may be affected and to come up with solutions that work for you and your business.

If you ask any of the AI bots a question it will come up with an answer, but the answer may be wrong and most certainly there may be another answer that it hasn't even thought of because you didn't ask it!!

Staff management often does just boil down to clear communication!

This week I am working with a client who has big plans for growth and with that, recruit employees. So I can offer reliable support while they grow their business and when the time comes I can support the recruitment process and train the new member of staff.

Sometimes I might be a permanent fixture and I love that, other times I am a good solution for keeping the business owner focused on growing the business rather than keeping the systems organised and productive - and there is absolutely no shame in that!

I hope one day I can congratulate you on terminating our contract! ☺️🏆

May your day be cut short, like mine.

On the school run this morning, I promised my kids that I would work hard, avoid distractions and get everything done that I needed to do before pick up so that we could spend the afternoon in the pool, eating pizza and having a movie night.

Mission accomplished.

Time is the most precious commodity we have. Whether that is spending time with your kids or spending time doing the hobby that brings you joy, there is no point building an empire if you don't enjoy the journey along the way.

Obviously I have to make this relevant to my business page otherwise it is just a brag post, so if you aren't able to clock off early on a sunny Friday to spend time doing something that is important to you, then pick up the phone and let's talk about handing over some of the burden to me to sort.
