“Sono nato nel 1991, poco dopo che la Lituania aveva riconquistato la propria indipendenza. Era un periodo in cui tutto stava cambiando sotto i nostri occhi: il Paese stava vivendo quella che definisco una “modernità accelerata”, e sono cresciuto tra i residui dell’era sovietica e l’emergere di un nuovo mondo moderno e digitale. Queste circostanze continuano a ispirare la mia ricerca, spingendomi a esplorare il rapporto tra il virtuale e il reale, due dimensioni che si stanno fondendo sempre più in un’unica realtà.Ogni mia opera viene modellata a mano utilizzando un visore per la realtà virtuale (VR). Mi considero una sorta di ceramista virtuale contemporaneo: modello, plasmo e destrutturo le forme, per poi tradurle sulla tela o sulle pareti. Questa tecnica conferisce alle opere un aspetto morbido, arrotondato e quasi levigato. Completo ogni lavoro con acrilici, colori a olio e vernici spray. La mia pratica artistica è caratterizzata da elementi astratti, figure stilizzate e una sottile vena ironica, che spesso diventa parte integrante della narrazione dell’opera.”

“I was born in 1991, just after Lithuania regained its independence. It was a time when everything was changing before our eyes; Lithuania experienced what I call “accelerated modernity,” and I grew up between the remnants of the Soviet era and the emergence of a new, modern, digital world. These circumstances continue to inspire me to explore my relationship with both the virtual and the real – two realms that are increasingly merging into one.Each of my works is sculpted by hand using a VR headset. I see myself as a kind of contemporary virtual ceramist – modeling, shaping, breaking down forms, and finally translating them onto canvas or walls. The technique gives the work a smooth, rounded, almost polished appearance. I complete each piece with acrylics, oils, and spray paints. My art is defined by abstract elements, stylized characters, and a touch of irony – a quality that often becomes part of the narrative itself.”
