Moramanga was born in 2012, created by for Coquillete. It started from a very precise idea, taking the great floral language of the French perfumery tradition and moving it somewhere warmer, more sensual, more instinctive. French floral perfumery is built like architecture, with structure, proportion and elegance. Flowers are placed inside the formula almost like figures in a painting. Jasmine, gardenia, iris, each one with its own role, each one with its own balance. But Moramanga wanted more than balance. It wanted body, heat, skin. It wanted the flower to feel alive. The name comes from Madagascar and behind it there is also a word that carries the soul of the fragrance, mora mora. In Malagasy culture, mora mora means slowly, gently, without forcing time. It is a way of living, a way of moving through the world, a way of letting things unfold at their own rhythm. That is exactly how Moramanga was imagined, as a fragrance that does not give itself all at once. It opens slowly, warms up, becomes deeper, softer and more sensual as it touches the skin. At first there is the elegance of white flowers. Jasmine, gardenia and iris create a luminous floral opening, refined and almost classical. Then the fragrance changes temperature. Warm resins begin to appear. Tolu balsam, benzoin and opoponax bring depth, softness and shadow. They take the flowers away from pure decoration and bring them closer to the body. Then comes the more carnal part. Tuberose, ylang ylang, Madagascar vanilla and musk. This is where Moramanga becomes richer, creamier, more physical. The floral bouquet begins to feel like skin, sunlight, humidity and movement. The French structure gives the fragrance its elegance. The Malagasy imaginary gives it warmth, rhythm and sensuality. Moramanga is a white floral, but with a deeper pulse. It is the meeting point between a classic floral construction and the generous power of African nature. A flower that has crossed heat, earth, resin and time. A flower that does not stay still. It breathes, opens and becomes landscape, memory and skin. Mora mora. Slowly. Until it stays.
