🌳 300 trees planted in the heart of Nairobi. Tackling climate change one tree at a time, together.
The 3rd edition of the Climate Change Global Business Summit on Africa — organised by TEHA Group in Nairobi to catalyse a global conversation on the role of industry in building a climate-resilient Africa — came to a close with a tangible act: a tree planting ceremony at the Ngong Road Forest Sanctuary.
This urban forest sanctuary is one of the most significant examples of conservation and sustainable management in East Africa, thanks to its ecological restoration programmes, community engagement, and biodiversity protection. The ideal place to mark the end of two days of dialogue on climate, industry, and development.
Together with around 20 participants and the invaluable local team that guided us on the ground, we planted 300 trees — 150 donated by TEHA and 150 donated by our partner DHL Africa — to offset the CO₂ emissions generated by the event.
A special thank you to DHL Sub-Saharan Africa and DHL Kenya for their tangible contribution and partnership throughout this third edition of the Summit.
🏙️ Why Nairobi? According to TEHA's Global Attractiveness Index, the capital of Kenya ranks 4th in Sub-Saharan Africa, 5th in Africa, and 35th globally in the environmental dimension - a structural advantage built on indicators such as air quality, public transport availability, and the presence of green areas relative to its metropolitan scale.
Strengthening this environmental resilience will be essential for Nairobi to consolidate its profile and support its broader development trajectory.
