Yesterday was harvest day! Way earlier than the years before! Babo and oechsle told us that it’s fine if we want a low alcohol Pinot Noir! Which we do! Low alcohol opens up alll the flavors of the Pinot in your wine glass! Cheers and we thank all the beautiful peole who helped us! ❤️🍇🍷 🍇

Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc are not separate grape varieties, but rather color mutations of the exact same grape. Because the Pinot Noir genome is highly unstable, it frequently undergoes spontaneous somatic (bud) mutations in the vineyard, switching off the genes responsible for producing red pigment. And so we have some white grapes in our vineyard! Nature has it’s own ways!!

It’s a miracle how we managed to avoid these late afternoon thunderstorms! They came so close! Berries still have to hang in there for some days to come! Fingers crossed!

Eclipse 2026 seen from Mombarcaro! Shame some clouds got in the way and the sun decided to sink behind the horizon! But anyway what an experience!

Current state of the grapes! We survived a small hailstorm yesterday end of the day! Our feelings go to the vintners not far from us who lost their grapes just before harvest! Nature has no remorse. all photography Tiberius Sanders

Defoliage, removing manually the leaves around the grapes. This improves lightflow and increases airmovement to prevent diseases. Thanks for the friends who came out in the blistering sun to help us! Big hug
