The way light plays on a surface, the depth of a texture, and how a finish interacts with color and space are details that can often only be truly appreciated in person.

The perceptual quality of a space also stems from the relationship between material, light, and surface.

In contemporary design, natural materials play an increasingly central role in creating spaces that foster balance, sensory continuity, and well-being. Natural stone, with its veining, color variations, and tactile density, highlights just how much a material can influence the experience of those who live in or pass through a space.

Heat-treated ash brings an intense, natural touch to the composition, with a surface that adds character to the space at first glance. Natural Casella oak lightens the palette with a softer luminosity, while Chenise beige and Sand beige create a balanced backdrop, designed to complement more textured materials and bolder contrasts.

Rounding out the mood board, khaki introduces a textile element, and slate adds depth with its dark, mineral tone.

Toni caldi, venature profonde, texture che costruiscono atmosfera.

Il frassino termotrattato porta nella composizione una nota intensa e naturale, con una superficie capace di dare carattere allo spazio già dal primo sguardo. Attraverso superfici che assorbono o riflettono la luce in modo diverso, texture che introducono ritmo, accenti che danno misura e continuità all’insieme.

In questo carosello abbiamo raccolto 3 combinazioni materiche da salvare e rileggere quando il progetto chiede più spessore visivo e una palette più strutturata:

Surfaces become the true focal point of the design: marble-effect countertops, matte fronts in mineral tones, warm wood finishes, metallic details, smoked glass, and vertical textures create rhythm, depth, and visual continuity.

The kitchen continues to evolve into an increasingly hybrid space: functional, convivial, and visually striking. A place where material choices shape how light, texture, color, and proportions interact with one another.

In this selection, Laminam ceramic, 4 Design milled decorative panels, HOMAPAL metal-effect laminate, and Egger solid-color panels create a balanced ensemble, where material contrasts, chromatic vibrations, and surface depths coexist in harmony. In 2026, the focus shifts from trends to materials: perceptual performance, resistance to wear and tear, and consistency of detail.

In the carousel, we have summarized three directions that are returning to the forefront of specifications:
• Embossed woods: modulation of perception and spatial rhythm. They work when the pitch, shadow, and joints are designed carefully and consciously.
• Opaque stones: less showcase effect, more depth and control of reflection, with a solid balance for contract contexts.
• Textured metals: finishes such as satin brass and oxidized steel bring detail back to a more authentic register, where patina, micro-variations, and maintenance become important factors in the choice.

With MAKTE, the transition from inspiration to specification is more linear.
