The name of the winery, Le Corti dei Farfensi, as well as the company logo, draws its origin from the deep and intimate imprint left by the Farfensi monks in the area. Via Farfense is one of the variants of the Via Salaria, which together with Via Romea and Via Lauretana constitutes one of the three main routes leading to Rome. Via Farfense takes its name from the presence of the Benedictine monks
of the Abbey of Farfa who settled in 890 A.D in the South of le Marche as a consequence of the Saracens occupying their monastery in Sabina,Lazio. The presence of the Farfensi monks had its central nucleus in the territory between the valleys of the Aso river and the Tenna river. The influence of this order of monks extended over a vast territory between the province of Ascoli, Fermo and that of Macerata, where for a couple of centuries the Farfensi established a real administrative and economic domination. In 1356, their dominion was abolished by the Constitutions of Cardinal Albornoz. The presence of the monks brought to the whole area, and specifically to Moresco, a period of prosperity linked to the development of agriculture and viticulture. The fact is confirmed by the findings of warehouses. In fact, the monks, being still in possession of the ancient viticultural techniques of classical Roman nature, established abundant productions of goods and could afford to sell their surplus. Their presence gave a decisive development to the the cultivation of vine in the whole area, so much so that in 1500 the Moresco cadastre, as documented by Cinquecentine jealously guarded in the town hall, describes the boundaries between the different properties by using as toponymic reference the following verbiage: "the property extends from the vineyard of ... to the vineyard of ...". The company logo depicts a monk who bends down to pick a bunch of grapes almost caressing it. This caressing and outmost attention to details and to the natural cycle of life describes the passion with which we still cultivate our vineyards and grow our grapes today.

Il nome dell’azienda, Le Corti dei Farfensi, così come il logo aziendale, trae la sua origine dalla profonda e intima impronta lasciata dai monaci Farfensi nel territorio. La via Farfense è una delle varianti della Salaria, che insieme alla Romea e alla Lauretana costituiscono le tre direttrici principali che conducono a Roma e prende il nome dalla presenza dei monaci benedettini e di alcune famiglie dell’Abbazia di Farfa che nell’890 si insediarono nel sud delle Marche, dopo l’occupazione del loro monastero d’origine, situato in Sabina nel Lazio, da parte dei Saraceni. La presenza farfense ebbe il suo nucleo centrale nel territorio compreso tra le vallate del fiume Aso e del fiume Tenna, ma l’influenza di questo ordine si estese in un vasto territorio tra la provincia Ascolana, Fermana e quella Maceratese, dove per un paio di secoli i Farfensi istituirono una vera e propria dominazione amministrativa ed economica, fino a quando nel 1356 il presidiato venne abolito dalle Costituzioni del Cardinale Albornoz. La presenza dei monaci portò in tutta l’area, e nello specifico a Moresco, un periodo di prosperità legato allo sviluppo dell’agricoltura. I terreni dei monaci, organizzati in curtis, erano molto produttivi. II fatto è confermato dai ritrovamenti di magazzini. I monaci infatti, essendo ancora in possesso delle antiche tecniche di agronomia di natura classica romana producevano in abbondanza e potevano permettersi di vendere i loro surplus. La loro presenza dette uno sviluppo decisivo allo sviluppo della coltura della vite in tutta l’area, tant’è che nel 1500 nel catasto di Moresco, come documentato da Cinquecentine gelosamente custodite presso il municipio, per descrivere i confini tra le diverse proprietà terriere frequentemente era data come riferimento toponomastico la presenza di vigne “la proprietà si estende dalla vigna di... alla vigna di...”. Il logo aziendale raffigura un monaco che si china a raccogliere un grappolo d’uva quasi accarezzandolo. Questo logo evidenzia la stessa passione con cui ancora oggi coltiviamo i nostri vigneti e custodiamo le nostre uve.

Das Weingut „Le Corti dei Farfensi“ trägt den Namen der Mönche Farfensi, die sich im Jahre 890 im Süden der Region Marken niederließen und die sich sehr tief im Gebiet eingeprägt haben, nachdem ihr ehemaliges Kloster im Lazium von den Sarazen eingenommen wurde. Das Weingut liegt im Süden der Region Marken in der Gemeinde Moresco mitten im Piceno, auf der linken Seite des Aso Tals. Entlang seines Flußlaufes, von der Quelle im Herzen der Sybillinischen Berge bis hin zu den Stränden der Adriasee, passiert der Aso zahlreiche Hügel, kultiviert oder übersät mit Wäldern, Dörfern mit aufsteigenden Wehrtürmen, Glockentürmen und… Weinbergen! Die angebauten Rebensorten sind Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Pecorino und Passerina, alles natürlich aus biologischer Landwirtschaft angebaut. Mit Blick auf das kluge Kombinieren von verschiedenen Rebsorten, wurde eine Auswahl von historischen Weinbergen getroffen, die mit einem konsolidierten Wissen, basierend auf jahrhundertealter Erfahrung im Weinanbau, angebauten werden. Denn in dieser Vielfalt liegt das Geheimnis großer Weine! Es wurde jedoch nicht auf Innovation durch andere Rebsorten mit neuen Aromen verzichtet, um die historischen Weinsorten neu zu interpretieren. Die Ernte erfolgt ausschließlich von Hand in kleine Körbe um eine Beschädigung der Trauben zu verhindern. Das Firmenlogo zeigt einen Mönch, der sich bückt um Weintrauben zu ernten und sie dabei zu streicheln scheint. Es ist die gleiche Liebe mit dem wir uns heute noch um unsere Weinberge und unsere Trauben kümmern.
