Dal 2006, anno in cui abbiamo iniziato a lavorare insieme a Soil Association Woodmark nell'ambito della certificazione FSC® è stata fatta molta strada e, mese dopo mese, il numero di aziende certificate con noi ed i servizi proposti ai nostri clienti sono cresciuti. ulla nostra conoscenza degli standard e sulla serietà che ci contraddistingue fin dall'inizio. La creazione di una Srl, avviata dal primo gennaio 2010, è stata il passo successivo per continuare a crescere; quello che ci spinge ad andare avanti non è soltanto l'incremento dei contatti e del numero di aziende certificate, ma anche la consapevolezza di svolgere un buon lavoro apprezzato e riconosciuto da tanti. Vireo è un verbo latino che significa verdeggiare: richiama il rigoglio della vegetazione, il rifiorire degli alberi e descrive anche l'entusiasmo e l'iniziativa giovanile. Last week, we joined our friends from at Pan Pacific London London for an informal breakfast talk on certified sustainability.

One message stayed with us: sustainability certification is not simply about costs and benefits. Its real value lies in improving internal processes, engaging teams and turning sustainability into something concrete, shared and measurable.

As someone wisely said during the conversation: “You don’t board a plane and ask the pilot if they have a licence, you simply take it for granted.” That is exactly how sustainability in hospitality should feel too: trusted, credible and part of the norm.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to our speakers Laila Biondani, Léa Jacquot-Benson, Lizzy Coates and Reino De Villiers for sharing their experience and perspective.

From the Alps to Tuscany, these destinations show how GSTC certification can become more than a milestone: a shared path involving local communities, institutions, tourism boards and operators.🌱

Sauris, Val di Fassa, and Val di Fiemme and Cembra have joined the GSTC-certified destination network, while Siena, Montepulciano, Trento, Garda Trentino and Rovereto have renewed their certification, confirming the continuity of their work in responsible destination management.

When your hotel has 700 years of history, sustainability is about far more than energy bills.

Due Torri Hotel achieved GSTC certification across all four of its luxury properties in Verona, Bologna, Florence and Genoa. But getting there meant confronting a very real challenge: buildings protected as architectural heritage, where structural changes are simply not an option. Every requirement of the certification process had to work within those boundaries.

As Giorgia Gazzuola, Sales and Marketing Director, puts it: "an effort, a dedication, but above all a source of pride."

Four days in Phuket that confirmed something we have been seeing for a while: the sustainable tourism industry is not just growing, it is gaining real momentum. The conversations at were sharper, more concrete, and more urgent than ever before.

Seeing an entire panel of certified properties on stage, most of them certified by Vireo, was a reminder of how far this market has come and how much we have grown alongside it. The data backs it up too: interest around certification has risen significantly compared to the Fiji edition. The direction is set, and we are proud to be part of it.

And beyond the panels and the data, there was something harder to put into words: the colors, the energy, the warmth of the people and the place. Phuket made it impossible not to feel inspired.
