RV-8A: from stock metal CS prop to light GT CS Propellers 🛩️
We are delighted, but not surprised, by another successful conversion from a stock metal constant-speed propeller to our evergreen technology, made from a mix of natura l/artificial composites. This time it’s installed on an RV-8° 205 HP operating in Florida.
With our propeller system you can save about 10 kg (around 20 lbs) and completely transform your aircraft’s flight performance!
We may sound repetitive, but every pilot who has made the same switch has told us the same thing:
“It feels like flying a totally different aircraft.”
Here in the shop we jokingly call it “the summer diet”: getting in shape before bikini season at the beach! 😄☀️

🇮🇹 Another immaculate white "Ferrari of the Sky" is ready to roar through British skies! 🇬🇧 ✈️

Restored by Paul Baisden, a professional aeronautical engineer, this Falco has been brought up to date after 70 years:

🌀 A GT Propellers hydraulic constant-speed prop with scimitar blades, replacing the original metal CS prop

At the customer's request, the prop tips are painted in the Italian flag colours to celebrate the Falco's Italian design. 🇮🇹

The GT2V51 is 72 inches in diameter and about 20 lb (9 kg) lighter than the original metal prop. That much less rotating mass completely changes how the aircraft handles.

Every customer tells us the same thing after the swap:
💬 "IT FEELS LIKE FLYING A DIFFERENT AIRCRAFT!"

No wonder experts call the Falco the Ferrari GTO of the skies. 🏎️

A completely different Tiger Moth, equipped with the iconic super rare Fairey Reed propeller reengineered by GT for the de Haviland DHC-1 Chipmunk ! Please note all Chipmunk propellers replacement are simple fixed pitch wooden propellers .Easy too easy !!

Yak Propellers Experts.

Another custom aerobatic counterweighted variable pitch 3- blade propeller, to equip a racing Radial Rocket being built in Australia and is powered by a large radial, produced in the USA by our friends, Barret Precision Engines. They are world leaders in competition and aerobatic powerplants.
The real challenge was to harness the high horsepower within a 2.42m ,95” propeller diameter and 3-bladed configuration. We also had to custom fabricate the 60cm,24” spinner.
This high powered M14P is rated over 430 confirmed Hp !

Custom CS propellers for non conventional applications !

The revolutionary project required more than 2 years because of the complicated conversion. This pusher aircraft has gone through several modifications and the biggest hurdle was the installation of one of the earliest produced examples of the Rotax 915. The difficulty was to procure a custom hydraulic propeller for a pusher type.

We have managed to solve this problem by engineering and producing this variable pitch prop in less than 5 months!

Note that although the diameter is pretty small, data has been recorded over 200 hours of flight tests and the Opera staff say that the performance is great in both climb and of course cruise.

Another GT mission accomplished!

We have finished this airworthy B17 electric variable pitch propeller scaled down from the original WWII Hamilton Standard. Thanks to the US Logistics and customs clearance it is displayed at Sun & Fun 2026.

This Monday, we will be starting with the final assembly of 2 variable pitch, 3-bladed propellers, being produced for one of the most efficient and highly organised gliding clubs in Namibia.
This propeller is for a Lycoming 540 Pawnee-X glider towing aircraft. The heavy duty propeller features the incredible on-wing blade removal.
