🇮🇹 Festa della Liberazione (or Liberation Day) is a public holiday across Italy commemorating the end of German occupation and fascist rule on April 25, 1945.

You’ll often hear “Bella Ciao” as it was the anthem of the resistance. Today, schools and public buildings are closed and state run museums and archeological sites are free to the public.

AUGURI ROMA! 🎈HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROME! 🎂

April 21, 753BC is the day of the legendary founding of Rome by brothers Romulus and Remus.

This famous sculpture is a depiction of their origin story- taken in by the she-wolf. In order to celebrate, I’ve added some birthday hats. ☺️

Happy a tutti!

PALAZZO MASSIMO 👉 One of the National Roman museums, this museo is filled with wonders of Roman art.

Got a taste for portraits? View the portrait gallery. Roman mosaics and frescoes? Yep. Bronze and marble sculptures? Double yes!

My favorite piece inside? A small, ivory carved doll of Julia Domna that belonged to an ancient woman.

You can visit from Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 6pm ✨
