From the 15th to the 2
6th December 2017 the MACRO Testaccio in
Roma will host the exhibition
“Io
sono qui!” (“I am here”) produced by M’AMA ART, from an idea by Alessia Montani, curated by
Lorenzo Bruni. The exhibition, promoted by Roma Capitale, and the Department of Cultural Growth – the
Superintendence of Cultural Heritage of the City of Rome, is divided into two sections
- one
section dedicated to the installations of seven artists: Mario Airò, Ulla von Brandenburg, Donna
Huanca, Runo Lagomarsino, Ahmet Ögüt, Antonis Pittas and Patrick Tuttofuoco;
- and another
section with works by fourteen artists: Maria Thereza Alves, Paolo Parisi, Kamen Stoyanov, Marco
Raparelli, Matteo Negri, Giuliana Cunéaz, Yorgos Stamkopoulos, Giulio Rigoni, Chicco
Margaroli, Paola Romano, Vincenzo Marsiglia, Camilla Ancilotto, Marianna Masciolini, Savini &
Vainio.
“Io sono qui!” investigates the theme of communication, through tangible and intangible infrastructure:
“me and the world” in the digital world. The technological innovation of tangible infrastructure as well as the data transmitted through the
broadband network, improves the operative efficiency of companies in all fields of society: Security,
Justice, Finance, and Public Administration, and which, through the digitalization of services, makes
systems more efficient, to the benefit of all citizens. The exhibition focusses also on the current need to be aware of the place from where we speak to the
world, without losing ourselves, trying to affirm our existence only through hits on a “post”. The seven
installations, which introduce the project, immediately remind the spectator that the enormous power
they have of being wherever they want thanks to smartphone Apps cannot be disassociated from the
awareness of their physical context and the environment in which they acting. The aim of this is to
reflect on what is behind the current changes that have led us recently to identify new priorities in the
pyramid of needs of human beings. Whilst historically the primary need was to hunt for food, the
secondary need that has appeared today - according to extensive surveys – is that of the wireless
connection. What is even more surprising, however, is that in first place we now find the need for a
battery charger. Round Table
