2023

Located in the vibrant heart of Rome, Allegrìo is a contemporary restaurant that celebrates conviviality with an elegant, Mediterranean spirit. Our lighting concept was designed to reflect this dual identity—refined yet relaxed—by creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that evolves throughout the day. Soft accent lighting highlights the textures of natural materials and custom furnishings, while carefully calibrated dimming scenes allow the space to transition seamlessly from the brightness of lunch to the intimacy of dinner service. Special attention was given to visual comfort and rhythm: integrated lighting solutions discreetly emphasize architectural lines, while decorative fixtures add character without overwhelming the space. The result is a lighting design that enhances both the sensory and social experience, accompanying the cuisine with a subtle but precise luminous choreography.

Chiesa di San Nicola | Appia Antica, Roma, Italia
2017

Reinterpreting a historic site requires deep and informed knowledge: without it, no true reading is possible, nor can the most meaningful elements emerge from the darkness. Being within the Appia Antica demands an intimate understanding of its history to reveal the story held within the building itself. Its beauty lies in its essential simplicity, and the challenge was to respect the strict constraints imposed by the Superintendency while preserving the sobriety of the architecture. As the historic walls could not be touched, recessed ground lighting was carefully integrated to create a powerful grazing light effect. Through this approach, our team captured the profound essence of this magical place—an achievement recognized with the Illuminating Engineering Society Award of Merit in 2017.

Teatro del Maggio Florentino | Sala Zubin Mehta
The architectural and interior design concept required the lighting to be fully integrated into the hall, creating the impression of a starry night sky. Luminaires were therefore arranged in an apparently random pattern, supported by detailed lighting calculations to ensure excellent uniformity.

Each fixture was selected with a specific beam angle according to its position and the varying ceiling heights. The recessed LED luminaires, equipped with 3000K light sources (CRI 90), ensure visual comfort and glare control. Due to the inclined ceiling, all fixtures are tilt-adjustable to achieve optimal perpendicular illumination of both the seating area and the stage.

Given the hall’s advanced acoustic requirements, close collaboration with the manufacturer was necessary to customize the fixtures. These were fitted with anti-vibration gaskets and sealed with acrylic glass to prevent any sound interference within the suspended ceiling.

Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino | Sala Zubin Mehta

After the completion of the Main Hall in 2017 and the lighting design of the entire Opera House, the project continued in 2022 with the Zubin Mehta Hall.
For the buvette the lighting design preserves the original vintage identity by reintroducing the historic glass chandeliers from the former building, integrating them into a contemporary system that ensures visual comfort, coherence with the new architecture, and continuity with the venue’s heritage.

Camplus Roma | San Pietro, Rome

CAMPLUS San Pietro is a student residence located in the heart of Rome next to Vatican City. This conversion of a five-story building of a former nursing home included the improvement of its functional and energy efficiency.

The main stairwell was demolished and completely rebuilt, offering in its new version dedicated areas for social interaction in addition to its primary function as a vertical connection between the different floors. Through light, a luminous pathway now accompanies and enhances this journey, guiding visitors naturally through the space.

Cartier and Myth at the Capitoline Museums.

An unexpected encounter between the creations of the House of Cartier and the sculptures from the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani — the central origin of the world’s oldest museum — in a dialogue that unites the sophistication of contemporary jewelry with the evocative power of the ancients.
The exhibition leads visitors on a journey through art and myth, where the deities Aphrodite, Dionysos, Apollo, and Heracles find their voice in Cartier’s gemstones and forms. The setting designed by Sylvain Roca .roca with the creative contribution of Maestro Dante Ferretti .ferretti, transforms the rooms into an immersive experience in which light, fragrance, and material intertwine in a story of timeless beauty.
The exhibition is open to the public from 14 November 2025 to 15 March 2026 in the first-floor rooms of the Palazzo Nuovo of the Capitoline Museums.
