August was a little bit of a whirlwind. 🤎
Between launching our newest collection, introducing the Via Bag, bringing Roby back in new colors and everything else happening behind the scenes, I realized I never really stopped to share one of the biggest moments of the summer.
Sieme went to NY NOW® . Our first trade show. ✨
We were part of IT BAG, surrounded by an incredible group of independent handbag brands, and I’m so grateful to handbagdesigner101 for bringing us all together and creating a space for independent designers to be discovered.
There was something pretty surreal about coming back to New York after so many years and seeing the bags I design here in Florence, made by the artisans and small workshops I work with throughout Tuscany, sitting on a show floor in New York and being introduced to buyers from across the country…. At a show I have been familiar with since I was kid!
But my favorite part was getting to actually tell the story behind our bags.
Why we work with rescued Italian luxury leather. Why our collections are naturally limited. Who makes them. Why we still handweave. Why I obsess over the details. And why I believe there’s room for a different definition of luxury, one built around exceptional materials, artisan craftsmanship and pieces with a story worth telling.
And now, onto the next chapter…
