Which side is the front?

With Some Kind of Romance by Hatje Cantz Verlag, there isn’t one.

The book is designed as a double-sided volume, with no fixed beginning and no prescribed direction. Even the pages refuse to behave conventionally: shorter sections, created through indexing, interrupt the edges and become part of the way the book is read, and handled.

A book you don’t simply open. You choose where to begin.

In Divine Presence, explores how Late Gothic and Early Renaissance painters transformed painted marble into a visual language of faith: using colour, texture and illusion to evoke creation, resurrection and the divine itself.
