Take a look at the explosion view of our airbrakes assembly, crafted by our dedicated team to provide precise control during high-speed flight. This innovative system showcases 3D-printed airbrakes that are reinforced with continuous carbon fiber, striking the perfect balance between a lightweight design and impressive structural strength. 🚀

At the heart of it all is a 5-leaf iris mechanism, powered by a servomotor, which ensures smooth and reliable radial deployment. We’ve optimized the load path with five axial screws, allowing us to maximize the deployed surface while keeping the internal volume to a minimum—an essential factor for student rocketry projects.⭐️

Last Wednesday, the PoliTo Rocket Team came together for our very first plenary meeting of the year, kicking off what promises to be an exciting new chapter! 🎉

This year, our team has expanded to an amazing 158 members, with 68 new recruits joining us after a tough selection process that had an acceptance rate of just 32%. 💥

Among our ranks, 21% are women, and while 54% of us are studying Aerospace Engineering, the rest hail from a variety of fields — including Mechanical, Computer, and Electronic Engineering, among others.

What sets us apart is our truly multidisciplinary approach, where every unique background plays a role in creating something remarkable. Together, we demonstrate that innovation thrives when diverse minds unite toward a shared goal. 🌠

We also introduced our new mission: 🚀 Amerigo Vespucci — inspired by the legendary Italian ship and its timeless motto: “Non chi comincia ma quel che persevera.” ⚓️

This serves as a powerful reminder that it’s not about how you start, but how far you can go when determination fuels your journey. 💪✨

🚀 On Saturday, October 11th, a delegation from PoliTo Rocket Team had the pleasure of attending Esplorazioni 2025, the first event organized by Astrospace, a day dedicated to discussion, exchange, and reflection on the upcoming challenges for the Italian and European space sectors.
