On October 14th at 17:46 (CEST), our VES MkIII rocket took off from the Aremogna Plateau in Roccaraso.
The flight was a complete success, proceeding under nominal conditions, and the rocket was fully recovered.
The launch allowed us to flight test the Da Vinci v3, our dual-core, SRAD flight computer.
The Forward Wings stability augmentation system, designed to improve the safety of the flight, was also validated.
VES MkIII is now a flight-proven, modular, test platform, capable of testing any future subsystems and launching cubesat sized payloads.
The Roccaraso Mission was our first team managed and planned launch campaign. The team built a rocket from scratch, assembled our first launch rail, and swiftly managed range safety, performing a flawless flight, all within the span of 5 months, despite the bad luck, adverse weather and countless technical challenges faced.
